The fact that you went to Ole Miss and say this tells me you were a complete loser in college.

If you think fraternities are paying for friends, I hope never put up money for a keg, split a tab at dinner, took a taxi home and split tab with friends, or rented a condo at spring break because this means you paid for your friends.

It's the exact same concept.

My son is looking to maybe join one so just trying to get some info on how it all works(and I understand some do not like them and will say don't join, I get it). For those who have been in one at LSU or had a kid in one, can you give me some scoop on how it works as far as rush goes and how do they offer you spots, the process etc.? Also what is the typical cost to join if you are not living in the house and other costs during the year(trying to get an overall cost for a semester or year). Also which ones would you recommend or not recommend?

1. Whats his pull to chill ration?
2. It costs about tree fitty
3. I recommend KA if he likes to have secks with females and Kappa Sig if he likes to have sex with males.

He should have registered early in the summer & gotten the Greek Tiger magazine with all the details.

This will answer your questions.
The Greek Tiger

Well, maybe not all your questions. Go old row.

OP, if you want your son to join the Glee club in lieu of a fraternity, this guy is your man.

Gary has actually got this pretty spot on.

About the price of a pair of Sperrys, a few pairs of 5 inch inseam khaki shorts (no cargos for the love of God!), a half dozen Southern Marsh shirts, a pair of Costas, and a visor. Oh and of course a solid NorthFace backpack to carry everything to class.

Damn, things haven't changed much at all since I left, except the KA part about females.

For everyone that said something stupid, please sear the above post into your little lady cream pea sized brains, as that's how you answer a question from a poster with 200 ish post that asked a question regarding the future social welfare of his son.

I realize this is the OT, and that anyone that enters should never ask a question, as everyone here is an effing genius that never has to ask a question about anything, and by no means would any regular poster in this forum ever father a son that wasn't already given, before he enrolled, a bid by the top 5 houses on every campus in the Southeast, as all of your sons will, by the 10th grade, be legendarily good looking, smooth, well endowed, combo high school All State QB's/valedictorians, suave, debonair, and possess the ability to talk any female from the the finest of Bocage MILF to any old row sorority girl out of some poon while leaping tall buildings with a single bound after chugging half a bottle of crown out the bottle.

The rest of us though need a little help in figuring things out from time to time.

Honestly, its not that big a deal. After freshman year no one really cares if you are greek or not.

I didn't rush because I pretty much went to college with everyone I went to high school with, and I still met new people through friends of mine in fraternities. If he's interested might as well give it a shot. He can always quit if he doesn't like it.
