Not a fan. I have been to really nice ones and they smell. Like rancid nacho cheese. I prefer to do the traditional dinner and a movie, then like a true American, get my wife to sneak snacks and Icee's in an extra large purse.

How is Valley Park to Movie Tavern "walkable"?
Posted on 8/18/15 at 11:50 am to Negative Nomad
They're too close to Valley Park and make it really easy for the heathens to just walk to the theater.
I love Baton Rouge.

No Movie House and Eatery or I Pic, no care.

Oh great. So now I can get charged even more to sit in a room full of strangers and watch a movie? It'll just make it all the more frustrating when some shite bag pulls out his phone or starts talking.
Going to the movies is stupid.

"Ay yo what? Some shite about a bitch and a boat. Don't even know. So what up?"

Been several times in Covington. Awesome imo. Best part is reserved seating especially for brand new flicks.

The tickets to Movie Tavern in Covington were cheaper than the other movie theater in Covington last time we went.

at anyone (you, apparently) who thinks that a high number of movie theaters makes a city good.

Because it is. It's only a mile or so and when you live in a shite neighborhood and the only on fun thing to do is within a short walk, they walk, ride a bike or hitch a ride. If I was bored on a weekend and had nowhere to go, I'd walk.
I don't think there's even a sidewalk running along Corporate. And if you wanna try to go across College on foot or a bike -- prayers sent.

I'm just not sure how this concept even works.
If you can order during the movie, how distracting is it to have a waiter pass food down an aisle? Seems like there could be tons of distraction from people walking up and down stairs handing out food.
Also, how much light is provided for diners to see during the movie? Some of the dishes served are knife and fork meals, so I assume there is enough light to be able to see. So how does that affect the movie watching experience?

I have some of those same questions but I would still like to give it a try
The breakfast menu and matinee movies seem like they would be cool

$10 for a ticket (if the price is the same as the Covington location) and $10 for a burger isn't going to draw the VP crowd for very long.

I looked up the menu. Compared to movie theater prices for popcorn and drinks, the prices aren't bad.
Not only is there food priced comparatively, so there are their tickets.
I'd much rather spend $9 on a decent sandwich than $6 on crappy nachos.
