The whole tint law crap is stupid. You can still put dark tint on your back glass so the cop can't see you anyway. All the LEO has to do is order you to roll down your windows.

No you don't. Don't make shite up. 0% would be black vinyl film with 0% light transmission. Meaning you couldn't see in, or out.

I've never had anything lighter than 15%. Never been ticketed for it, even when pulled over for other things. It's stupid hot down here and the darker tint helps keep the interior cool. Also helps it cool faster.
That's why.

Have had 5% on every vehicle I've had. One tint ticket so far, and it's gotten thrown out due to the officer only writing "tint to dark" on the ticket. That was an easy one to fight.

I've had illegal tint on all my cars since I was 18 (28 now). Never got pulled over or ticketed for it. I've been refused an inspection sticker, but never been pulled over by a cop for it. I've been pulled over for other violations, cop never said a word about my tint

I had a car with a tinted windshield before and never got tickets. Then I had a truck with 20% and got pulled over all the time. Now that I'm older I just go darkest legal, it's not worth the headaches.
Still thinks it's bullshite that cops can have limo tint all the way around and I can't go darker than 35%.
I am shocked the 2nd amendment wackos aren't all over this. They are the ones always saying police should not be able to have things that we cannot have.

I just get denied a brake tag for the first time ever. And all I have is my front windows tinted to match the factory on the rest of the car

I've always tinted my windows darker than the law allows. I started getting my vehicles tinted legal because it's a pain in the arse to get an inspection sticker lately. It's not worth the hassle anymore. I think Louisiana should make 30% legal for the front door windows.

IMO...even dumber is the dark lenses which are placed over the HEADLIGHTS...wth ? Dolts also place these over the tail-lights as well....how stupid can you be to intentionally REDUCE your own headlight "reach" and the visibility of your own tail-lights ????

35% is bullshite. Had my windows tinted to 35% in Nola, then got transferred to Dallas. 25% is legal in TX. Never have gotten around to having it redone. It really does cut down on the heat and it just looks good.

Never understood this either. Especially since cops say its dangerous and keeps you from seeing clearly out at night and during rain. But of course more and more police agencies are going limo like you said. Even state police who never had tinted windows are now blacking out the tahoes and crown vics.

I wouldn't go too dark on the chance the LEO are going to pull me over. It isn't about a tint ticket, I just don't want to give them a reason to pull me over and snoop in my business.
I haven't tinted my windows yet. I think my car looks great with crystal clear windows after a nice wash and detail.

Not saying it never happens, but I also don't know anyone who has had tickets for tint, feels like you're exaggerating your point.
Darker than regulations permit. As can be expected, kids who drive around with "illegal" tint get ticketed for it. They either get pulled over for their tint, or get the charge added on to another violation.
I used to get it cause it looked cool. Now, living in a place that gets hot in the summer, it's purely to stay a bit cooler I'm the warmer months. It makes a world of a difference.

It really doesn't make any sense. I have buddies who partake in all different illegal activities and their tint is too dark, inspection tags are out etc.
When I was a teenager I knew better if you carry illegal substances make sure your ride is up to date

Yeah they do make a 0% shade rating, obviously it's not a black piece of vinyl but it is darker than the 5%. Sometimes too dark, but it's nobodies damn business what's going on inside of my vehicle. Most doctors of optometrist will write a prescription for dark tint. That prescription will get you a medical exemption at the DMV. Form stays in glovebox, presented to police of ever questioned.
