Hopefully, when you have to buy the wife a new vehicle, you don't leave the keys to her car in your vehicle.

It is an unwritten rule in our house that the last person up is responsible for shutting garage and locking all doors. That person that night was not me. But it's now worth playing the blame game.
As the man of my household, I always make a round to be sure we're locked up tight before we go to bed.

That's not important.
I am on your team. I've recovered a posters stolen vehicle before after reading about it on here.
I will see what I can do.

My Link (toyota's version of Onstar) was zero help.
Well what good is it then? It doesn't have a GPS feature?

Sorry about this. I'm pretty much a fanatic about the garage door being closed at all times, unless a car is going in or out or we're in it cleaning it out, but if there's no one in the garage, it has to be closed.
The garage door is also hooked up to the alarm system, so the alarm cannot be activated unless the door is closed. Same with two windows in the garage. Unless they break the glass and crawl into the window, they're not getting in without setting off the alarm and the windows are pretty high off the ground and have very bright flood lights over them that are on all night. The lights are high as well and there are two more that shine on the garage doors which face the street. Not burglar proof, totally, but burglars would have to work harder at it.
None of this helps you now, but you might consider hooking up your house alarm so the garage doors are included in the system. Unless you forget to turn on your alarm at night, you'll never leave the door up again.

Can someone shed some light on this? Why the F would a person's DNA be at all relevant in a stolen vehicle investigation? Are they really going to link the guy's DNA with DNA found in the vehicle?
Sounds suspect.
I would not give up my DNA info without a warrant or a felony arrest.

My dad's the district attorney in another parish. I asked him to use any resource he could. Nothing I hate I worse than a thief.

My neighbor's SUV got stolen in Westhaven subdivision last night. My roommate's truck got broken into as well. We have cameras set up at the house and they showed 2 black males walking up around 4 am checking cars. The video is too dark to make out any faces but sheriffs are going to take a look at it. Judging by the vicinity to Oak Hills I bet these are the same guys

Do not rekey anything. Wait in house with a big gun and kill the mofos when they come back. The OT will thank you.

Why in the hell would you leave your keys in your truck ?
We do this all the time when they're parked in the garage. But we close the garage door at night.
Funny, just last night I left my truck in the driveway w/ the keys in it, and unlocked.

Thanks for the info! Gotta be the same guys. I will certainly let our investigating deputy know.

Consider it found if this guy's on the case. He's the Don Johnson of the local PD

So frickin' stupid to leave keys in a vehicle. Are you that goddamn lazy that you can't carry your keys back and froth from the house? There's not one decent excuse for this behavior. Just frickin' dumb! You deserve to have your shite stolen!

Skin, if it makes you feel better, we have the same unwritten rule at our house. We've left our garage and front doors unlocked more than a few times, but we're pretty cool with all our neighbors, and we live in a neighborhood full of cops and people in the medical field, coming and going at all hours. and knock on wood, no one in this hood has been victimized.
I have a feeling they're gonna find your Lexus in a few days with a bent frame and some jizz stains in the back seat. It could have been way worse. If they were keeping it really real, they would have entered your house. So prob just some car jacking teenagers looking to joyride, hopefully with no chop shop hookups.
