I'm passed the point of being in shock, now I'm just filled with anger .

We live near the Oak Hills subdivision and Saturday morning one of our vehicles was stolen right from under our garage. We regrettably went to bed Fri night without closing our garage door. The person took my keys out of my truck, which had both key sets on it, and used those keys to steal my wife's vehicle. Her keys were inside the house the whole time.

I discovered the vehicle missing at 6:30am as I was leaving to go play golf. Sheriff's Office came out dusted for finger prints on my truck. Took my dna swab as a reference. Haven't heard anything back from them yet. Officer said the vehicle was likely on its way to New Orleans to be stripped down. A part of me is still holding hope that the car is still in Baton Rouge somewhere.

Any tips on how track the vehicle down?

My Link (toyota's version of Onstar) was zero help.

Color and model of stolen vehicle:

2009 Lexus RX 350

I wouldn't help a moron like this if you paid me to.

edited: you forgot to list color. Is it black or is that a purplish color? Not that I'm going to help or anything/

I bet it's either somewhere off of plank or parked in a shopping center or apartment lot. We get them dumped in our complex from time to time, might take a week or so to hear about it.

You left your garage open, truck unlocked, and keys inside said truck?

The car is gone forever. Close your garage door next time and don't be an easy target.

Can someone shed some light on this? Why the F would a person's DNA be at all relevant in a stolen vehicle investigation? Are they really going to link the guy's DNA with DNA found in the vehicle?

Sounds suspect.

Does sound suspect. Probably just took my DNA to increase the pool of their database. I didn't question it at the time.
