It's sad, but in Lafayette it's "le" and "la". Everyone calls the golf community in Broussard "La Triomphe" but it's really Le Triomphe, and these people are supposedly very proud of their French heritage

for my friends out west they have trouble with just about any name in Louisiana.

All the french influence in South Louisiana and then there is the pronounciation of Jeanerette.

The one that I hate living in the Florida Panhandle is Dolphin Island. It's Dofa I can take it when they say dofan but where did Dolphin come from
