I did it for the increase in clearance to allow slightly larger tires, after I tore off my front air dam at the camp. The coilovers, changed the ride but I notice less cabin roll in hard turns at highway speeds. Significant price increase over spacers at 2-3x cost though, but beats the hell out of cutting the frame for a suspension lift kit.

5100s or a quality set of coilovers would both be superior to factory shocks.
I can agree with you if someone uses a spacer.

Put a 2.5"lift on my King Ranch and then put on new 275/60/20's in Firestone all-terrain. Looks great, no change in gas milage and I don't get high centered on stumps on my lease anymore. Those damn Perelli's that come stock on F-150's are pure crap!

If you upgrade the shocks and tires, and not modify the frame. You should be good to go.

Ford life baw.

OP - get the 2.5" kit and get someone to put it on. Otherwise you might mess it up. I got away for roughly $275 total with alignment but my mechanic put it on for cheap... After CP3 busted a bolt off my strut and the truck was 2 weeks old

OP - I have a 2" Pro Comp leveling kit on my F150 4x4.. If you want it completely level I would probably go with the 2.5" as others have suggested. Did not lose any MPG with just the leveling kit, but after I put all-terrains on as well I lost around 1-2 MPG. In the end it's your truck so do to it as you please fellow OBer

I installed a 2.5" AutoSpring Leveling kit. That comes with 2.5" spacers in the front and a 3" block in the back. Took about an 1.5" out of the rake. It sits pretty level when I pull a boat now.

The kit cost about $170, installed with the help of a friend. Took about 4 hours.

I did get it aligned after.

Gas mileage is down about 20% after installed Cooper STMAXX 275/65/20 tires.

Ecoboost.

Tires are good, there is a little noise. Not overwhelming though, most of the noise is when decelerating. I have about 12000 miles on them so far, treads look really good still.

I think my next set will be a little bit wider.

ETA: I was the same with the Stock tires, around 17-18, now I'm typically around 13.5-14 whether I drive 45 or 75.

Okay thats a big hit but oh well, they are good tires and I didn't buy a truck for gas mileage. May look at at3s, I had those on my last truck in 33s and liked them alot.

at3s

I just put the 305/55's on my ecoboost and they are quiet. Its my 3rd set of at3s on as many trucks and I've had no issues out of any set and get 60K+ miles out of em.
