Doubt a shouvel ever hits the dirt, unless there are more details about rock solid funding.

Odds are this won't happen, but never underestimate the ability of New Orleans to squeeze in an off election year millage. The stupidest city in the Northern Hemisphere never ceases to amaze.

So how long before it's a mandatory field trip for all the kids in Louisiana schools?

Funding for the slave ship museum would come primarily from private, corporate and philanthropic sources with some public resources

We need more museums, would be awesome to get a couple more in that area. Maybe another art museum and a world class history museum.

Whatever homey. The city wouldn't fund much or any at all of this deal.
I agree with others, this is a pipe dream. New Orleans is booming and one of the hottest cities in the country right now and someone thinks they are going to come in right now and get something goofy like this funded.

But Where's the museum for white people??
Jesse and Al would be throwing a fit if we did that!!
So how about the Confederate museum?..

After all, Dick Clark once suggested a TV award show for TV award shows

Cool.
I will visit the museum and then check my meter to see if it had any effect.

I would figure central city's welfare culture is its own form of a slavery museum

Look forward to the white on-site management/black minimum wage worker bee dichotomy that will result from this.

How much tax revenue goes to the Aquarium, the Zoo and the Insectarium? I'm not saying they get the full amount they are asking for, but in the minds of our leaders if some catfish, monkeys, and roaches can get some cash from the taxpayer, so can a slave boat and a few African villages.

Good lord you sound like an ignorant dumb fcking redneck LOL

The slave ship cruising the river is a cool idea only if everyone is chained down like the slaves were

And you sound like you are on the pad for the New Orleans Convention Bureau.
Answer the question. At the very least, how much tax money goes to the Aquarium? The city funding on some level is possible. And how many nonsense votes has the Mayor and the City Council supported in the name of black empowerment?

I wonder who owns the river front and adjacent properties?

This should be a major tourist destination for African Americans from all over the continent.
