I am not a huge ground turkey fan(would much prefer lean ground beef) but it was on sale for two bucks a pound. Looking for some ideas for stuff to do with it especially something different. I know it can be used just like ground beef but just looking for some ideas. Ta.

I like turkey meatballs....the texture of turkey seems to lend itself to a tender meatball.

Where did you get this awesome deal at?

Kroger in Savannah, Ga. I go every Sunday morning and load up on clearance stuff.

I wonder how turkey this lean would lend itself to a meatball without an added source of fat?

I don't care for it, but the wife likes it. I've started using it in chilli and it not that bad.

Ground turkey in anything that has a sauce is a win.
Tacos , chili, spagetti ect.
I can't tell the difference.

If you make turkey meatballs, use them in a Thai curry and it will be delicious!
I make turkey chili on occasion. Black beans, chili spices and seasonings, usually some kind of tomato product.

Love turkey chili--only way my wife makes it now. Same with tacos.

We have also been eating turkey chili at our house lately.

Turkey zucchini meatloaf with peach preserves and dijon mustard glaze. On the regular rotation in my house. I would recommend browning the onion and zucchini to get rid of some of the moisture prior to adding it to the meat.

I'm always shocked turkey hasn't taken off more yet. I love going Sundays (like you mentioned) and picking up turkey filets for almost free.

I love ground turkey for meatloaf, burgers, etc. But at 98% lean you're going to have to do a little bit to give it moisture and flavor, imo. Herbs, spices and, yes, even throw in an egg or two. It won't diminish the health benefits particularly (eggs get a bad rap sometimes).
