I wish I had the time to work on mods and custom buildings for this game like I did for SC4. I'll probably have to stick to just playing though.

I fricked up on my first real attempt pretty bad. I have way too many intersections and now that my town is at 40K things have basically gridlocked. shite is burning down and people are getting sick and can't get to the hospital. Probably gonna start a new one tonight. I also didn't really take advantage of the district tool and want to do better with that. Once my town hit 25K the budget just started blowing up, I'm making money faster than I could possibly spend. I feel like I can start over with a better strategy.
I fricking love this game.

Happened to me too. I took the 60k loan, paused the game, and reworked the road infrastructure of my city.
Most fun I've had playing a game in a long time. Put in 6hrs last night and barely scratched the surface.
Even just road building is awesome. Just putting in one ways and different types of roads to map out the city is a blast
Fantastic game all around

Ive moved my industry and my citizens are still getting suck. How do I prevent this?
Posted on 3/13/15 at 12:43 pm to J Murdah
It takes a while for pollution to go away.
You should've moved your citizens.
Also, put up more hospitals and make sure they can get to your people

Got to 35K with my original city. Still struggling with sick people everywhere. I called it a night around 4am right after 20 percent of my population....died.
Going to be a busy night in the funeral homes today.

Is there a MOD that opens up all nine tiles or spaces from the beginning? I'd like to start by building neighborhoods and segregating industry from residential.
Posted on 3/13/15 at 1:15 pm to schexyoung
Yeah pretty sure I saw one last night on steam workshop

There is an unlimited money mod, all 9 tiles mod, and all 25 tiles mod.
Be careful on the all 25 tiles mod though, you need a damn good computer to run a city that big.

Honestly, a city with over 1 million people would drive me crazy. There's a mod that will bulldoze your abandoned buildings that I'm going to download when I get home.

One thing to pay attention to that is a bit silly is noise pollution. People will get sick from it. Commercial, industrial, and some structures like stadiums will pump out a lot of noise. Looks like the NIMBYs were right.

Found it finally.
The Texas U-turn Interstate solves traffic problems just like in real life. It's a thing a beauty when you link of the one-way feeder roads.

I just know I'm gonna spend 30 hours playing this between now and Monday morning. City sims are my heroin.

Yes, I saw it on steam last night...I'll see if I can link it when I get home.

Yeah, in my skyscrapers area I did a decidedly poor job with the roads. Ended up knocking down half of them to clean that up due to the noise pollution.
