Never understood why people liked this cheats. To me, unlimited money isn't fun because it takes some of the challenge out of the game. I enjoy having my city go negative, figuring out how to fix it and then watching the money start coming back.

My city got too educated for the industry. I could never get enough people to work in my industry sections.
Sooooo
I built an illiterate section of town. Plenty of police and fire protection, but no access to schools other than elementary and one high school. It's basically a giant subdivision. All those people work in the industry and have no roads leading anywhere but one exit road out of the neighborhood into the industry section.
Worked out pretty well.

I've been wondering why when I build industry sections that nothing ever gets built. I guess my population is too educated.

Smart as hell. (And amazing layer for the game). My original city went into a free fall financially. And my industry couldn't get any workers. Bet if I do something similar I could save it. (We are about to go bankrupt and people are moving out in droves.)

Can't wait to see what other games get their map remade in skylines.
Along those same lines I wonder if it's possible to recreate westeros aka game of thrones with skylines. Or even other world's from books or movies, the possibilities are endless.

I have my first complaint of the game.
I bought a tile rich with oil.
I made an entire industry on it.
Now all my industry buildings are saying "not enough resources".
But when i open the world view, it still says i have the same amount of oil as when i bought it.
I don't think the resources on the world view ever change. Even if you exhaust them.
This is really annoying.
Anyone else have this issue?
I tried building a train station and seeing if that will help me out.

My Industry and the solution (this is the second time i build a neighborhood specifically for my industry workers.) It worked equally well both times.
I know the interstate looks ugly, but I had to alleviate the the traffic and they each serve a specific purpose. Later this weekend I'm gonna work on rounding them out and making them look cleaner.(Another tip: If your interstate is getting backed up, placing a dump off valve that connects back to the same interstate later is a huge help)
You can see all the abandoned industry buildings and requests for workers:
Then i built the "South Eastern Industrial Ghetto" and connected it to my oil industry district "Halliburton Hood". As soon as the neighborhood was populated:
Here is the overview of the whole city. Halliburton Hood looks abandoned because i just converted it from oil to ore. So it is in a rebuilding phase:

My city was doing great then all of a sudden people started dying and I started losing money. I have no idea what has happened. Everything was great then poof. Disaster.

WHat was your population?
I've spent an absurd amount of money on hospitals and cemeteries and cops and fireman.
Every couple of blocks there is a little fire house, police house, health clinic, and cemetery, then on the main roads leading to those places there is a hospital, fire station, police station, crematory, etc...
Some of it overlaps but you need a shite load of health care stuff to keep people happy and healthy. Especially the damn cemeteries. I have so many damn cemeteries and still sometimes, someone who lives next door to a cemetery will never get the dead picked up and will abandon the property.

It was about 29k when shite started going down.

Your city looks like an absolute clusterfrick. That shite would get on my nerves. I have to have everything symmetrical.
ETA: I have been working on a city I am finally happy with. I will post it in a bit. I just took a break when I hit the 8K population mark.

Fair enough. It might not look pretty zoomed out, but each neighborhood is very symmetrical when you zoom in, and i rarely am zoomed out except to switch between neighborhoods. The roads are very specifically built to control traffic flow and ensure my citizens only go where i want them to. No traffic anywhere, 98% healthy, less than 6% fire risk, less than 2% crime rate.
There's a method to the madness.

Look forward to seeing it. I tried to stay symmetrical, in the northern most part you can see it. But as i expanded and needed to upgrade all the roads a couple times and things like that it got impossible to keep the whole grid symmetrical.

Exactly what happened to me in Robwood. I finally abandoned the game.
Started Newrob...thinks are moving along nicely with 12K of little citizens bouncing around my map.

Just went and checked out r/CitiesSkylines and holy shite they have some crazy situations that they've created and encountered.
It's basically a big circlejerk about how big of a cluster frick looking Highway intersection you can make though
