If scoring more is all he does than westbrook is in trouble in overall season stats compared to a magic or stockton
i mean you do realize he's throwing up like 8-9 assists per game, too, right?
and where have i brought up westbrook as a prime pillar of my team?

I think that one was aimed at me because I said he would be a horrible mismatch for Stockton.

If Westbrook is dealing, he's on the floor to close the game out for the 15 team.

If you take his seasons from when he was 26-32, his prime, he averaged 25+ a game. Big deal that a lot of them were 24 something....
22.6
26.7
25.0
22.5
23.5
23.5
23.3
that is his scoring from 26-32
his FGA?
15.9
19.0
19.1
17.4
18.6
18.2
17.9
gasol's highest FGA is this year, at 13.5/game

This year hes been incredible.
And you did all but lol at stockston playing against westbrook but no you never said westbrook would even make 2nd rotation. But u did mention those 2 awhile back

Who has never averaged more than 2 blocks a game when Ewing has averaged 4 for a season. So not only do Ewings offensive stats blow away Gasol, his defensive stats are also way better. Oh...Ewing got more steals as well.

My argument against that is the competition of big men hes doing it against isnt the same.
I think great is great between the two eras....outside of big men

that literally is irrelevant to this discussion

we already went down the list. 1992 wasn't exactly busting with talent. and the modern big man talent is criminally underrated
they just dont post up 15-20 times a game like the guys in the 90s b/c they're more skilled and more efficient

Where are you getting your numbers? He averaged over 28 points when he was 27. Are you just making them up? Also, if Gasol is so great why isn't he used more?

It's pretty relevant when you say he is better than Ewing and stats show Ewing was a better defender

i accidentally posted his per 36
the same point still stands. he scored more only b/c he shot more. if gasol shot 20 times a game, does anybody think he wouldn't score 25?
he is used. as a facilitator
on that note. who gives up shots on the dream team so ewing can shoot 20 times? jordan? pippen? barkley?

He has the most high post touches in the league for a reason.
His biggest fault has always been his aggressiveness on offense. He should be shooting 15 times a game, but he is just reluctant to do so sometimes.
I've seen him absolutely take over some games this season when they need him to

Right! Fix it then.

Ya that 3 assist a game career average is facilitating the shite of the NBA!

Nobody, his D and rebounding is what they would need. The other stats I have posted showing he is better than Gasol in every aspect of the game were only posted to show he is better than Gasol. It is crazy that you think Gasol is as good as Ewing.

So maybe if he wasn't scared he would be better?

They run their entire offense through Gasol.

He's not scared, he would rather get guys involved. He's been that way since he was in high school.

He is a decent player, really good at times, but he doesn't score and he gets 3 assists per game. I just don't see how someone could think he is better than Ewing unless they were the biggest homer ever. I don't think you said he was better than Ewing but it seems like SFP does.
Posted on 3/7/15 at 1:22 pm to lsu480
Ewing can board, get blocks, score in the post and is a far superior athlete then Gasol. Ewing also through up 3 assists in a season. And he has a jumper. The Ewing - Gasol debate is just as ridiculous as the Robinson-Gasol debate.

He is a great player that is unstoppable at times. For example the other night in Houston the Grizz came out of halftime down 4. He came out and scored 9 points and assisted on 4 baskets to give the Grizz a lead.
quote:

3 is the lowest number of his career or at least since he became a starter. The assist numbers don't show the influence he has on offense.
Every possession for the Grizz starts wth the ball in his hands in the high post for a reason.
Plus he plays with two borderline all stars. When Zbo missed 9 games earlier this season Gasol suddenly became a 25 a game scorer and 10+ rebound a game guy.

I just don't see how someone could think he is better than Ewing
No one did, we just think the gap isn't as big as some of y'all think
