Seeing how everyone bashes Les Miles for the opposite, I'd say no. But I like Les Miles' way of keeping all the real stuff behind closed doors so I'll say yes.

Would you rather Les come out to the media and tell everyone how much of a mental and emotional basket case Jarret Lee was or take the brunt of the media barrage on himself like leaders are supposed to do not throwing 'kids' under the bus.

a lot of people criticize "coach speak"

Then when a coach is honest and upfront, he gets criticized for that too?

I would much rather hear him say, " zardon is playing with his head up his arse at 3rd so we're moving Hale over there" than well, talk for 20 minutes without saying anything.

I never really paid close attention to his
comments, but if he is, more power to him. Let's you know where you stand. Tired of all the BS political correctness.
Miles could learn a lesson from CPM.

I like it. Anyone who has been watching the games is probably thinking the same thing he said.

I'm all for honesty, but I wonder if PM would appreciate candid interviews from one of his players.

After being exposed to Les Speak for this long, there is no such thing as too blunt

I get the coach speak thing as well, but Paul will also often more quickly throw a player under the bus before own up to his own shortcomings. Also, why didn't he hold his coaching staff to the same standards? He'd excuse after excuse for Javi.

Pulling Bouman after 6th still hurts. Very bad decision maker regarding pitchers in my opinion. He also leaves pitchers on the mound longer when they are struggling.

Behind closed doors no problem at all. In the media is pretty crappy.

yeah, that was just an example statement. not meant to imply anyone thinks he's been playing that bad. But, i would rather pm say something like that than hear him ramble on about nonsense and never give an actual reason.

Miles and Mainieri treat their players very very very differently in the media, no doubt.

No I actually like the fact that he's honest with the media and doesn't talk in coach speak all the time.

The players can take it.

It's actually refreshing to see a coach that's up front and gives very specific answers that aren't vague and long-winded and ultimately add up to making little sense.
