There were actually 2 "clubs" about 8-10 years ago in the downtown area.

I also remember a club they had I think right outside the Belle at one time guess it was early 2000's.

Edit: Yeah I think I'm thinking of America's Pub.

That was Americas Pub

I remember when Jessica Simpson was filming Dukes of hazard and had club shut down cause it was too crowded inside. We had just gotten off work at the belle and we're waiting in line to get in when we were told they weren't letting anyone else in

Nightlife was around the corner.

Mystikal rapped about it in one of his songs.

Is the idea to gather all the undesirables in one building and then burn it to the ground? Because otherwise, I cant see how anyone thinks this is a remotely good idea. Especially in that area.

Years before the belle was built, the building that SHucks is in was a teen club called Ground Zero. Before that it was an adult only night club called the Riverfront(102.5 broadcast from there). I was too young for the night club but went to Ground Zero.

It was dying by 2006. We had some fun going there after Rugby practices for karaoke though(a friend was the dj). We got to use the stage and make complete asses of ourselves in front of 40 people(in a club suited for 400).

Was that other place called Parrot Bay? The one where the Canes is at now? I remember some ship or something inside of there.

Place was a god damned cluckfest. Definitely not the same as Poets. It's about where T-Mobil/Firehouse Subs is now. Poets was where that Lock/key places is now but was bigger. It took over that Coyote Burrito restaurant space or whatever the frick it was called.

I also think Center Stage was before the other club JOnes is thinking of. I wasn't even old enough to go to Center Stage(early 90s).
