Its something that I try not to think about but sometimes you wonder.
What is your perspective on death?

I am terrified to die before my son reaches the age that he will remember me.

I don't look forward to it at all but I'm not afraid of it. I've got a different perspective today than the one I had not to long ago.

I'm more scared of my husband dying before we grow old together than I am of my own death.

I was totally content before I was born, so I'm sure I will be content after I die.

no more or less than any other human.

I want my death to be quick. Which probably means it will be slow & painful

Not of death itself, but of a painful death.

I've thought about it. I probably think about it more than I should.

Does it scare me? I'd like to say no, but of course it does.

It's human nature to fear the unknown.

Question: Is it possible to truly appreciate life if you have no understanding of death?

From an intellectual standpoint, I'm not really afraid. I accept it as a neccesary part of life that gives value and context. From a visceral standpoint, I am terrified of it. Every once in a while it seems particularly real, and I can feel a fear or maybe just a hard depression in my bones about the thought of it. Then I get back to living.

For whatever reason it always seems like the boogeyman to me. Not real, like it'll never happen to me.

I used to lay in bed terrified of dying. Was in my early 20's. At some point that changed. Now I'm more worried about the family. Got life insurance out the arse so I know they're all taken care of. Work out 4x's a week, try to eat decent and not killed by a woman on the phone in an SUV.

Depends on the day. I'm scared of dying young for sure...young being before retirement. Usually I don't really think about it in depth so it doesn't bother me. If I contemplate it there are times it can bother me. My biggest fear would be to drop dead suddenly at a "young" age. I would like the opportunity to settle a lot of things...this is preferable no matter the age but more important the younger I am. I would love to knock 1 or 2 more things off the bucket list. But most importantly get some closure with loved ones.

Not believing in an afterlife makes dying young and quickly a fear. I'm about to hit 40 so I think about this more. What's really important? I've been focused mostly on making and banking money for a great retirement.

My company just restructured and I got let go. Not a problem financially as I am being paid for the next 8 Months plus considerable stock options. I also have a pretty fair certainty of getting a similar job with either a competitor or similar work but I'm not sure I even want that anymore. I have some time to think about what direction I want to take. Same path of working hard or take it easier and "smell more roses?" I don't have an answer but mortality and my thoughts in this thread are weighing heavily. Plus the Whisky tonight!
