Not even close.

The team was good until it lost its starting QB. Chip Kelly isn't even close to being anywhere near the hotseat.

[quote]I think another 8-5 season will have Miles on the hot seat, but it won't get him fired after 2015. I think the grumbling would definitely start, though, and he would be under increased pressure for 2016.[/quote)

Grumbling would definitely start?? The grumbling has been going on for quite a while. Of all the LSU fans I know (and it is a large number) only two are LM supporters. Just look at the numbers "grumbling" on the Rant. Look at the comments on Facebook anytime something about LSU is posted. They are almost unanimous in wanting Les gone. Les has very little support from the average LSU fan. Now if we could just get the BOD on board.

I don't think so.

Obviously - that's why you started this thread.

No way 8-5 in 2015 gets him canned.

A) Lose the attitude. This is not a shite-throwing contest.

2) 8-5 could certainly get him canned.

D) I'm hungry...

People need to voice displeasure w their pocketbooks.

I didn't pay for tickets and TAF fees this past season because the product isn't worth the cost. I saved thousands of dollars and too many hours of valuable time to count. I missed out on a decent Ole Miss win despite us almost finding a way to lose it. Otherwise, what did I miss? Arguably the worst season of the Miles era?

I say 2008 worse, but we had RP to blame at least. The stadium experience combined with poor coaching is no longer worth the investment of time and money.

I am doing my part for change.

I do not agree with this at all.

Even if someone like Kelly was available? Do you think LSU would risk losing out on someone like him, just to keep Miles around for another year?

What makes him a good option? Its obvious that offense doesn't work when you play NFL caliber defenses. The ones we will see every year in the sec. We would still get smoked by bama running that shite.

Wasn't advocating for him, just wondering what people thought about the possibility...

That said, everyone here complains about the lack of ingenuity on offense, he would certainly take care of that. Nobody in the SEC has NFL caliber D's...NOBODY.

Miles will not be fired, miles will be allowed to retire from LSU

and miles wouldn't retire after an 8 win season unless he point blank lost his mojo

For miles to be fired there would need to be a catastrophic failure in either the on field product or compliance/ethics. A 2-10 type of disaster or a petrino type of scandal. 10 yrs of .790 football, two SEC Championships, and a NC get you a lot of rope.

Chip Kelly is not leaving the NFL either

another thing our schedule is easier than last year.

cupcake game vs McNeese. We could play on backups and run 100% of the time and still win this. We could win this on defense alone.

MSU on the road, they are losing a lot especially on defense. We should win this game too

Auburn at home, they are losing a good bit. We should win this.

Cuse on the road, they suck they may keep it close but no exchuse to lose this game.

so 4 games into the season we should be 4-0 but if we are 2-2 I suspect we will have a bad season.

Eastern Michigan. Another easy win

South Carolina on the road, they sucked this year they could get better but another game we should win.

so we should be 6-0 at this point of the season. We should win all of these games. We could be upset. At worse I think we are 4-2

Florida at Home, again another win, new coach only if their offense goes from worst to first in a season we should win this.

WEstern Kentucky at home.

So 8 games into the season we will likely be the favorite in every game, it is very reasonable to think we will be 8-0. If we have two or three losses at this point of the season this is problematic and our future with miles should start to be questioned.

@ Bama will be our hardest game to win, but they are still losing a good bit at-least on offense.

Arkansas at home scary game, they are the dark horse in the SEC west this year.

Ole Miss on the road. Ole Miss is taking a huge step back after this year, we should win this game but they could upset us.

Texas A&M I don't know about this game, if Chavis is the savior of the defense we won't win this game. They weren't good this year and we should have the advantage at home.

So looking at the schedule

there are 9 or 10 games we should win.

1 or 2 games that we could lose

1 game we probably won't win.

anything less than 9 wins is a disappointment.

Chip Kelly is my dream coach for LSU.

I would go from my current unhappy state, to looking like Beefense and others immediately.

I'll go ahead and get this out there... not a fan of the spread, especially combined with the HUNH. BUT, Chip ran the ball about 64% of the time in 2011/2012 at Oregon. And many of his passes are just runs to the outside. I can't say it's something to be dismissed out of hand. Harris is suited for it with some development.

Ok, having said that...
My biggest problem is that I would want an established D coordinator in there and comfortable before bringing Kelly in.

So... if Chavis' replacement can come in and get everybody settled down and prove solid. This scenario is plausible.

I think I'd even like it. The "if's" just need to be turned into "see, told you's" first.

ETA: damn Faggies coming in and shitting on your thread.

So you wouldn't be comfortable just bringing Chip Kelly in? You would need an established defensive coordinator first?

Wow.

You hit the nail on the head. Coach Miles has lost the fire. Maybe, though I doubt it, he's had a wake up call.

Les Miles is certainly backed into a corner now. Let's see what he can do without being in his comfort zone anymore. It's do or die it seems.

Last time he was "backed in a corner" he hired Chavis. Let's see what happens with the DC hire and QB development. I don't see how LSU should lose 4 games next year with any improvement at QB. If so, I definitely think it will be time to look elsewhere.
