BATON ROUGE- Authorities found the body of 4-year-old Jassiah Clark Monday evening in a water-filled ditch, WBRZ's Ryan Naquin confirmed.
The child's body was found at 7:35 p.m. Officers had canvassed the area prior to finding Jassiah's body but could not see in the murky water until they used a flashlight.
Police said the investigation continues and will await a coroner's report that should shed light on any foul-play.

Stories like this rarely have happy endings.
Awful.

The story just updated that he was found 25 feet from his home. Terribly sad, and I honestly don't want to know how this plays out.

This is horrible. I have a two month old and I couldn't imagine going through something like this.

The only negligence was leaving your 4 year old unsupervised for 5 hours.
I'm waiting on the autopsy...one of the family members on WBRZ was very adamant someone took the boy. Almost to the point that they thought it was strange BRPD was still searching the neighborhood.

I edited my post earlier because I didn't want to sound like an a-hole after a 4 year old was just found dead, but there are quite a few things off about this story. I remember reading somewhere that they searched for hours before calling the police. Somehow, this hole 25 feet away evaded their search? I sure hope I'm wrong.

That's terrible and such a tragedy. Any word on suspects?

Apparently the hole's murky water made his body only visible when a light was shone on it at night and the search there initially was during the day.
Kid went missing sometime between 12:30-5:30. Reported missing around 10pm. I don't think that's too strange given that in the situation I'd probably canvass a few blocks and contact neighbors and stuff before getting cops involved.

No determination yet if it was an accident or homicide. But the family isn't exactly the model family.
