Same guy that got me started when I was 15 decided to quit. We're still best friends, so of course I say, "If you can, do can I." It's been 4 days. Of course, my triggers are driving and hunting. I drove 4 hrs to come hunting with my dad. I haven't had much of a craving. My girlfriend sure appreciates it. Have y'all quit yet?

naw but i also wasnt an "addict" i only dip sometimes. Like i may dip when i go hunting saturday.. may not touch it again for 2 weeks. Then i may dip the next 3 afternoons by a fire, and then not touch it for a month. Never had and addiction to it, just do it sometimes if i want. Good luck though

i quit about 2 months ago. Killed my 10 +/- year streak. Feels good. The first couple days were a little weird, but you don't know what you are capable of until you try. I run a lot and immediately noticed a huge increase in my stamina and distance. I wish I would've quit years ago.

editt::: congrats, by the way.

I quit for a year.

Got single, got a job, got stressed out, hunting season got here, started again

Unfortunate. I plan on quitting after my first big project wraps up.

Quit July fourth, made it 4.5 months and collapsed with the increased usage of adderall after midterms... Gonna quit again when I make it back to Houston for Christmas

Gave up dipping and drinking almost a year ago. Both cold turkey. Never looked back. Mind over matter brother I would smoke when I drank. By default that is gone as well.

ETA: I was a can a day for 13 years.

Dipped with my uncle on weekends at age 12 and 13, started hitting it hard at 14. I'm 24, just say 10 years at 1-1/12 can a day. The Mrs hates it but deals with it. I'll give it up sooner or later I guess.

38. Been dipping since 15.

I quit drinking and dipping for a year at one point in my life. I drink and dip now.

It was easy at that time to quit. Not so easy now.

I've quit for a few weeks or so. I'm currently using a two cans a week vs a can a day. It's a terrible and nasty habit but I love my snuff.

Quitters never win anything.

Good for you. Been trying to quit smoking. Hard as hell to do when you're offshore.

The best thing I've found for quitting is to go buy a can of the nicotine free dip like bac-off and mix it with a can of regular, then gradually transition to more of the bac-off then regular. It worked better than cold turkey for me...

Been dipping for over a decade a can a day. Tried quitting several times and have been unsuccessful each time. Sucks to know that this will kill me if I don't stop. The sad thing is it's one of my few joys in life.

First off...Congratulations!
Takes courage and commitment to do that sort of thing!

Dad must have dipped since he was in HS...or before...I know he dipped when he was in 'Nam. Heard stories of him getting care packages full of Skoal. He dipped until he was 42. No cancer or anything. He never dipped in the house. Only outside. Never kept a spit cup in the house. He said he'd quit when he got out of the Corps in 1990. He never looked back after that. Wintergreen lifesavers was his help. I can't ever smell wintergreen and not think of him. Kinda funny how things work out that way.

Dipped a can a day for for 20 years.
Quit cold turkey 8 years ago, and have never dipped again (but I still crave it on occasions)

Good luck to ya!!

The key to quitting is that you have to WANT to quit.

It was three years ago yesterday was the last time I had a dip in my mouth, it was my mom's Christmas present.

I still drool whenever I see/smell a open can of cope.
