So why is she taking her temperature twice a day? If there's no chance she has Ebola what's the point of that? And if there's a chance she does have Ebola, why the frick does she want to go out in public? Hippocrats gonna hypocrite.

Because people are scurred and thus overreacting and also trying to win political points.

I'm just surprised that a health professional would put themselves at high risk treating the Ebola population, and then when the U.S. requires a temporary quarantine, she's like, "oh hell no."

Something isn't adding up here.

No one said she doesn't have the chance of getting it. She doesn't have the chance of infecting anyone at this stage.

So then you're saying she has a chance to get full on Ebola but she doesn't have the chance of infecting anyone else? This makes sense to you? Am I on crazy pills?

Did they quarantine everyone on the flight with the nurse who got the virus?

No, which makes this all even more absurd bc if she had the virus and was contagious then she's already spread it to others on the plane and there are a bunch check of people with the virus running around not quarantined.

You aren't contagious until you are symptomatic.

Is it THAT they quarantined her or is it how they went about it? Didn't they basically stop her at the airport and lock her in a room until they could transfer her to a tent outside of a hospital?

She was, after all, treated kind of crappily.

Couldn't they have said.. listen, when you get home, you are going to need you to go into quarantine for 21 days, so make arrangements.

if you're PEC'd (which im guessing what they did), you have no say so on going to a hospital.

it's supposed to be for psych patients but all you need is one doctor to sign off to it for something like "depression"

and just to clarify... symptomatic means fever, vomiting, diarrhea, and malaise. Fever precedes the contagious stage. source

So let's say she's not symptomatic now, leaves quarantine and goes to the grocery store and that's when she first becomes symptomatic by sneezing blood on some Granny Smith apples? Like you said, she's not symptomatic now, but if she's still testing herself for the virus then logic only says she thinks there's a possibility that she could at some point become symptomatic....right?

This reminds me of pulp fiction scene with the wolf when Vincent vega starts being a little bitch at jimmy's house.

no; yes.

would gladly expose ex-wife to ebola.

This is not a paid vacation. Science, via an actual blood test, has proven that you are ebola free, but some dumbfrick politician has decided you are to be locked up for 3 weeks to satisfy his constituents.

Yep. That's what the doctors in Dallas who contracted the virus thought too...they understood exactly how Ebola works, and somehow still got it.

Yeah. I think there should be a requirement to meet a high legal standard before they are able to hold someone against their will for 21 days. I hope this does go to court and both sides present evidence so that a judge can determine whether such a threshold has been met. Giving state officials the power for a 21 day hold without due process makes me very uncomfortable.

I can't believe the board that is so cynical of LE conducting illegal search & seizures, illegal stops, house raids, etc (I am, too, BTW) is cool with a state official having the power to hold you against your will with no legal recourse.
