Our little bundle of screams has started to be colicky.
Every night, 9ish till around 2 am she cries her head off. Sitting up seems to help her some, laying flat on her back is a no go for sure.

Last night was her first dose of zantec
I just ordered those Dr Brown bottle things
We have been trying gripe water
Generic brand gas drops
We burp her constantly

I know there isn't a cure all, but any advice at all?

FYI - dreams get pretty crazy after long periods of little sleep

I guess I don't really know just how much these help, but my 10 month old niece has been on these since day 1

Never once had an issue with her.

She's also just a really easy-going baby though

good luck man

Put her in the car and drive her around the block a few times. Seriously.

My son eventually had to get on prescription medication for colic. I feel your pain.

Have you tried switching formulas?

Our first was cut from the same cloth, she slept in the swing (turned on) for the first 6 months.

Make sure she has everything she needs... Then let her cry and invest in some earplugs.

Sometimes they just need to cry it out

Get this swing

4moms mamaroo

Pricey, but they are awesome. Our NICU has them. If that swing can work for drug babies that are super irritable and cry all night long without the swing...it can work on any baby.

I feel ya bro...my boy was that way. Not much helped if I recall. Sleeping on his stomach worked some although they say that a no-no we did it. White noise helped some. And I think the wife gave him a little Benydril to "prime the sleep pump" so to speak which our Doc recommended.

My personal beliefs are that babies are not supposed to get booted out of Mommies bed too soon. That isn't natural so if she is calmer in your bed I would keep her there. It's only since the last 50 years or so that everyone slept apart so it's probably confusing the baby and stressing her out.

Swaddle the baby when she/he sleeps.

If you can't do it with a blanket, buy the Velcro sack ones.

Went through the same thing with my little girl. She was also on Zantac. If it's reflux causing it, try folding up a blanket and putting it under her crib mattress to give it a *slight* tilt. Keep an eye on her to see how she sleeps like this, though. You don't want her rolling and getting bunched up in the crib where she can't breathe.

Also, talk to your pediatrician about switching formulas. We had to switch ours to Nutramigen, which was expensive, but it helped. Just be aware that it's not a quick fix. You may have to give it to them for a week or 2 before they are used to it.

Good luck.

Been there done that... my 10mth old had it for 3 months straight.... a few things will help...might sound like BS but i swear by it.. 5pm EVERYDAY, the dude was like clockwork. Wife tried eating diff foods. changing bottles... Browns included... Did everything, we are both ER nurses so we have decent medical background.

1. a Vacuum Cleaner--- Serious as sh*t!! put a vacuum next to your rocking chair or wherever you sit with her and when she starts crying, turn it on. I thought it was COMPLETE BS too until my wife did it. It was the only way we could get my son to quit. My wife told one of her friends about it whos kid has colic and it worked as well. Ended up buying a CD of just Vacuum noises, best investment ive ever bought!

2. Dupois' Home remedy. Made by a Pharmacist some wher in the state. Has a few meds in it that helps. Had to give it to my boy about 4x a day but it seemed to help. Dupois

3. Our pediatrican is extremely conservative. Even though we KNEW the kid had colic, the guy kept blaming it on gastric reflux or some other BS. Ask for some medicine called LEVSIN. It is weight based anti-spasmodic that is the best thing ever created by man.

Try these out and keep me updated. Hope this helps... and yes.... im serious about the vacuum

Try to switch formula if she is taking formula. Mine is drinking breast milk and formula. But I know on my other two boys we had to change formula to the expensive stuff. Neutramagen (spelling) If was worth it because the gas was making their stomachs upset therefor they cried non stop Good luck

Try the Enfamil formula in the blue can or the Nutramagen in the orange can.

Do what everyone else has suggested regarding positioning, driving, swinging, vibrating.

From my personal experience, you have a long YEAR ahead of you.

Ask your pediatrician about Bentyl, prescriptions sound scary for infants but a little of that is better than an aisle full of "remedies"

My son was collicky(sp) as frick for a solid 5 months.. It was nothing shy of miserable. We spent probably $500 on colic meds and none really worked... You pretty much have to let them grow out of it.

The swing was the best thing I've ever purchased In my life. I remember the first time we put him in the swing.. My wife and I were actually able to go sit on the patio and enjoy ourselves for 30 minutes he's 8 months old now and still loves that swing
