I'd rather Lowrie than the shite show that was Astros SS last season.

Predictions for next season:

Who has more homers: JD Martinez or Mark Krauss?

Likewise, who has the better average and most RBI's between the two?

Thank God we are doing something with the bullpen.

I'd also be ok with them bringing back Lawrie. He wouldn't be a bad stop gap guy to have until prospects are ready.

Crane is definitely not interested in spending the money to improve the team. Hes jus out to make money.

Who is this scumbag?

Will be interesting to see if Gregerson got a no-trade clause. If not, Astros might have just bought a nifty July trade chip.

I agree. I liked Jed. His .250 average would be better than Gonzales/Villar.

Also just read on BleacherReport, so take with giant grain of salt, but the club may be eyeing Sergio Romo to add to the pen too. Also some crap about a possible trade involving Fowler to Toronto. I would be pissed if that went down. I like the outfield combo of Springer, Fowler, and Marisnick.

I actually like Marwin. I much prefer him over Villar. I think his best baseball is ahead of him

I completely agree, but would rather Lowrie and a little bit of veteran leadership in the clubhouse. I liked what Marwin did last year though and how he improved a lot from 2013.

ETA: But getting Lowrie would have to be at the right price. And it sounds like he can return for a reasonable amount.

I think the Romo thing is dead. I haven't heard anything about a Fowler trade, would like to see him healthy for a full year.

So who do we think closes next year? Nobody has experience in it.

So glad to see them beefing up the bullpen some. As many games as the pen gave up last year, an improved bullpen has to count for at least like what 10-15 wins?

Love the Luke Gregerson and Pat Neshek signings. Combined with Qualls is a very good bullpen. I am curious to see who will come out of the spring as the closer.

I would also be all for a Jed signing. He is telling teams that he'd be willing to play 3rd this season too. That would be a perfect signing at this stage without any other signature SS or 3B free agents available. Sign him to a two year deal and let him bounce between SS & 3B as needed until our minor league guys are ready.

Qualls can still close

Unless we're playing the A's

These are great pick ups by the way
