Videos: Miles still not bullish on Harris. Harris being very humble.

"We're not going to operate that way," Miles said when asked if Harris was now the starter. We've always done things in a measured fashion. We'll go back on the film and communicate with our team, and not do so through the paper. We're going to do the things we do to reconcile the game. It's not necessarily the splash you guys want. It's just how we do things."

You can't be serious. He's not going to throw Jennings under the bus.

Miles also said that at certain point in the game the defense is tired and it's easier to score on all 7 drives. New Mexico State defense tired in the 1st quarter itself?

Miles was not happy with the booing and was letting it be known that he makes the decisions, not the crowd.

This is the way it should be.
He's going to treat these players like men and talk to them before he tells the press anything.
Anyone wanting something different is an immature prick.

All Miles is saying is that he doesn't make, or announce, shakeups in starting positions in postgame press conferences. He does it in a way best calculated to make sure the players understand the thinking behind the change. Any other interpretation is simply an attempt to bend his words to suit the "interpreter's" agenda.

Les has to baby this situation. No reason to name a starter publicly right now.
I respect that. Now if Jennings plays the first three quarters and stinks it up, I'll be pissssssed lol

He is handling it properly, he isnt going to say :yea, jennings sucked, harris is our guy now"

there's nothing in his conference that leads me to believe he's not bullish on harris; nothing at all.
the man has TWO qb's to be concerned with. what's he supposed to say? all he's doing is calming everything down. the guy did a great job against NMS for god's sake. the meat of our schedule is coming up. not time to get giddy

Don't announce a starter till game time. Give Auburn less time to plan.

I'm not reading into anything Les says. Just wait until Saturday and see who starts.

On a side note, I can't contain my excitement for Brandon Harris. The guy is a baller, leader, and just seems like a great young man.
He's going to go very far in football and life.
Eta- I thought true freshman were off limits to media.

I heard a theory on here earlier today, forgot who posted it....,but it makes a lot of sense.
Let Jennings start, hope he plays lights out. Give him a series or two.
If he doesn't produce, you send Harris in to rally the team. There HAS to be much less pressure on the kid in this scenario. He can go into the game as a gunslinger and a savior instead of being nervous.
I can live with it.

He seemed like he was whispering during the post game presser. You could tell "at least I could" he was thinking "oh boy, how in the hell do I validate starting AJ next week". Strangest post game interview I can remember, and that's saying a lot for Miles! You'd think a head coach would be more excited about what he saw?

Dear little baby Jesus, lying there in your swaddling clothes, please don't every change the rant.

That was immediately after the game, so no surprise. Plus unless Miles and his coaches live in a media bubble, he has to know that polls were as high as 99% in favor of Harris. The Miss State game was winnable as Harris and the team demonstrated in the 2 minutes of playing time Miles was forced to cede him because Jennings was injured. Jennings has not had a TD pass in 3 games and has 3 INTs and a number of fumbles and sacks. Miles reluctance to believe in his own hype and that of George Whitfield about Harris and the other Freshmen is an enigma.

I dunno about immature prick. But a lot of posters seem woefully uneducated about how things like a big time football organization works. (or probably how any half complex organization works). It's a bell curve thing I guess.
