sounds like he just doesn't want to put these kids under a heat lamp the week leading up to a big game. naming a starter would definitely do that. BH plays most if not all of the game imo

I completely disagree. Harris gives us the best chance to win, therefore he should start. If Jennings starts then we'll be uber conservative on offense, likely stall out, and give Auburn a chance at the early lead. With a less than stellar defense, we're gonna have to outscore teams in order to win. The play calling is totally different when Jennings is in, and frankly it sucks. Harris allows us to spread opposing defenses out, which in turn opens up holes for Fournette and the other backs. The offense just functions better when Harris is in. If Miles can't see that, or worse yet, won't admit it, then we've got serious problems.

Prepare for both? AJ probably is the only one that has scene the secret playbook.

LSU fans run Baton Rouge? If you are speaking about the purple jackets, OK...but those guys probably actually communicate directly with Miles in some fashion. Miles nor the purple jackets don't give a shite what the "fans" think nor should they when it comes to personnel issues.

Les was sure quick to throw Lee under the bus.

I other words, "Harris won't start unless AJ gets Hurt or one of them transfers. don't give a damn how many games it costs us."

I really get the sense that Miles is digging his heals in and won't start Harris for no other reason than to say "Screw you, I am the coach and I will decide what happens to this team, not fans or the media"

While he may have a point, to keep the better player on the bench just to spite fans and media is beyond stupid.

All Miles is saying is that he doesn't make, or announce, shakeups in starting positions in postgame press conferences. He does it in a way best calculated to make sure the players understand the thinking behind the change. Any other interpretation is simply an attempt to bend his words to suit the "interpreter's" agenda.

It's crazy that some people don't understand this and are demanding an announcement right away.

I don't think you understand what that phrase means.

Saying that BH has earned the right to start is not throwing AJ under the bus.

Throwing him under the bus would be if Miles said " our sophomore signal caller has not showed a significant want to excel at finishing first is these Saturday night contests and if her were of higher a higher quality player, we might not have finished second in the last game."

Man! You people need to learn how the English language works.

Miles did not say in any way shape or form that AJ was still the starter. What he said was that he wasn't going to break the news that BH is the new starter to a bunch of reporters before the players are aware of the new situation.

He also said that basically NO decision had been made officially yet. That decisions like that ONLY come AFTER all the coaches talk about it review crap on film FIRST! And then come to a conclusion.

Now if AJ had played well it is par for the coach to say he is still the starter if he has no reason to think otherwise.

The only logical conclusion you can take from what Les said is that AJ is not without a doubt the starter.

So at a minimum Les thinks BH might be his new starting QB or that BH will definitely be starting.

I don't think AU will deviate from their game plan regardless of who is the QB. Miles has always handled personnel issues this way. I don't believe he likes to be pushed, and wants to keep it all internal.

What is the benefit in announcing this to the media immediately after the game? He can address the team in private. No reason to go through the media here.

You really want to give a true freshmen his first start on the road against the fifth ranked team in the nation? You have no doubt that's the best thing for Harris's development? You wannabe coaches crack me up.

No kidding!

Jennings has started and is in his second year in the program as Harris has seen all of five games in the program with no starts.

Only suggesting Harris might be better served to watch a couple series and then come in.
