I didn't find my Italian food to be as good as DiGuilio's either.

Of course, nothing will ever beat the lasagna at the old Marcello's

I've always like Stroubes. And it's downtown, next to a ton of bars.

Agreed.

And they have a good pork chop as well.

Make sure you call in advance and see if they'll do a reverse sear...

I would think steak houses would be all about the reverse sear. It seems time-efficient and would yield an impressive product.

An industrial sous vide would be money for this.

What about that place in Central?

Stabs I think?

It's not too far of a drive.

I have not been but I have heard it's pretty good.

Late to this thread. Like Jones said, I've been there several times and the steaks are top notch.

I've never been, but I've heard good things. I'm kind of surprised no one mentioned this place earlier. It immediately came to mind. What's the latest on Stroube's?

If Stroubes comes recommended, we'd have to consider it because we're staying downtown.

I've enjoyed Stroubes every time I've eaten there(about 4 times). Never had the steak though.

Surprised it is not mentioned more often in the upper echelon of BR restaurants. I had a New York strip with bacon wrapped shrimp that was probably one of the tastiest meals I've ever had.

Beausoleil has some of the best cocktails in town, my favorites being the Mississippi Mule and the sweet potato-infused rum punch.

If you are looking for steaks and not much else go to Does. It is much less formal than the other places.

You can't go wrong with stroubes either, especially if you are staying downtown.
