I cook the white bigger beans. We called them butter beans growing up. Try some with a ham steak or fried pork chop. I'll take them over red beans all day long.....

You see, we ate "butter beans" but they were really just white lima's. When I think of white beans I think of Great Northern. Anyone else? What do you consider white beans? Pintos? Great northern? White limas?

White beans also come up a lot in red bean and jambalaya threads, but it's not like boiled crawfish, king cakes, reverse sear and gumbo threads if you're thinking that frequently.

Butter beans are lima beans. White beans are pintos or Great Northerns. Least that's my thinking on it. I prefer cornbread to rice with either. But rice is ok too.

I thought I would take that secret to my grave. I remember doing that as a child and it haunts me to this day.

You cray cray.

I'd rather red beans with rice and white beans without rice.
