Chapman may have been the most athletic white kid in college I have ever seen.

I didn't realize his life was such a disaster nowadays, I thought since he had all those management and broadcasting jobs, he was doing ok and this was an unexpected screw up. Hope he can pull himself out of it.

Same here, I thought he was fine. I know he is well liked out here so hopefully people will rally around him.

Half to taxes, agents etc makes it 11 mil and half to ex-wife takes it down to 5.5 mil. That $ was over 25 years so his cut is like $200k a year and I am sure he led an NBA lifestyle for a few of those years. Not to mention he is a gambling and drug addict.

Wasn't it an LSU player's fault he tore his knee in college?

You may be thinking of UNC's Kenny Smith. John Tudor fouled him going for a layup and broke his arm.

That's what is so baffling about it. Even saving 5% of that 22 million would be over 1 million invested over 20 years ago which would be worth at least 3 million today with a modest return.

No, he didn't get all of the money up front.

He had other income sources though and could easily have 2 million saved by now (from the 4 million you estimate he ended up with after it got all split up). I'm not addicted to anything so I guess I don't understand.

How the hell did he steal that much merchandise and not get caught in the act?

When I see those tammy Wynette letters
D-I-V-O-R-C-E
I think
B-R-O-K-E

Divorce is half - at least- right there....and not half of net either, especially if he was gambling and/or cranking during the marriage.

You can do a self-checkout on your phone at the Apple Store, its actually REALLY easy and you don't talk to anyone, so he acted like he was doing that over and over. He got caught after he had done it over 10 times.

Chris Herren had unreal potential. I remember watching the documentary on him and his first game back in Massachusetts he was drinking and doing blow all night and didn't sleep before the game. Went out and dropped 35 points or something like that
