Getting detention or suspended in elementary school doesn't mean anything in the long run. Tell your son to defend himself and not worry about what the teacher said.

fricking idiot.
Sucks for your kid to have a shitty male role-model with no grasp on the English language.

Public school?
This sounds like public school problems
I get a letter when my kid looks at another one the wrong way.

Frick that. I've always told my kids to go to whatever lengths they have to in order to defend themselves. If they get in trouble, it is then my job to go to school and defend their right to self defense. My kid was a chubby little geek 4 years ago, then I put him a good Taekwondo school that emphasizes bully self defense and Krav techniques. Now my kid is a freshman and can kick my arse. The physical transformation he made is mind-blowing, not to mention his self confidence.

Definitely. Especially due to the unresponsive administrators.

Bring it to the school's attention again. Bullying is a big deal now. Tell them if it doesn't stop you're going to the school board My son's school suspended a kid for repeatedly bullying him
This is the worst advice ever.
Teach your kid how to verbally insult and embarrass the bully in front of girls. This is the quickest resolution.

Nah, you should teach him to beat up a smaller kid to gain the bully's respect. If he's the smallest kid in the class then he can either beat up a girl or you can bus in a smaller kid from another school just for the day.

Sounds like public school. There would have been 12 conferences already in private school

Say look here Seabass (your son), go kick his arse.

If there is a zero tolerance policy why is the other kid not gone?

Because that makes for a worse thread.

And don't teach your kid that it's ok to break rules and disrespect authority.
Unless he's trying to defend himself and that trumps all the rules.

Write a letter to the school board saying that the teacher and the principal are condoning bullying and creating a liability for the school. Then call 7 on your side.

Exactly. My kid started wrestling on the city wrestling team at 5, he does 50-100 push ups and 20 pull ups every night (needs help after 3). We practice boxing and the kid has a right hook that will stun you. He's a sweet kid and loves people but I pity the fool that attempt to push him or his little sister around.

I get a letter when my kid looks at another one the wrong way.
i get weekly emails advising of demerits/detention for tardies, uniform violations, sauciness, disruptive behavior, etc. And my kid is pretty good comparatively.
Public schools can't discipline or get rid of the bad kids, so you have to teach your kid how to handle it by himself.
