re: East Upper escalator line stretched all the way up the hill today.

Why cant people take the ramp? It takes 10-15 minutes of easy walking
People can. That's not really the issue here though. Gate 9 used to have about 12 ticket scanners and a line formed from the north and a separate line formed from the south. It flowed pretty well for the most part. This past Saturday they decided to form a Disney-like cue line where it snaked around some barricades and you eventually ended up by 2 ticket scanners. It was a massive cluster in that entire area. We bailed as soon as we saw that going on and headed over to the ramps.

I understand. Doesnt seem that much different.
It didn't help that people were getting turned down at the new gate 2 weeks ago either.

I probably just missed it but I'm guessing the type of crowds we had the past 2 weeks might not include a ton of sports talk listeners.

Yeah if that happened that's pretty terrible.

i havent sat up there in years but do people actually not understand you can use the ramps?
The issue with the gate printed on the tickets is only part of the problem. The chaos this week was much, much worse than it was for Sam Houston because there was only one line. I couldn't even really tell much of a difference for the SHSU game compared to previous years.
Could some of those people this weekend avoided the wait and walked the ramp? Sure. But it still wouldn't have been nearly as bad if they had just left things the way they were for the opener, and the way they were for over a decade.
I got an email about the gates/ramps last week, but received nothing about the extra barricades and reduction to one line until I walked there and saw the huge clusterfrick.

I missed the game being out of town for business, but if this is how it's going to be. I will forward my season ticket renewal and TAF dues notice to our assclown AD we just extended tenure for with a strongly worded suggestion on what he can do with them. Paying $400 a seat for the right to pay escalating ticket prices while they continue to bend the EU investors over repeatedly isn't going to happen any mo. Alleva, you've reached my tipping point

Well, I'd love to say this is a bit drastic but if I were 30 years older and paid for the gold seats I'd be a little pissed.

I was looking for 4 upper east tickets for Miss St if anyone decides not to go.

Strange but true
.....there's an escalator?

The ramp entrance used to be visible from the outside. You'd walk up to a large ramp with ticket takers, get scanned, and start walking.
With the new addition, the ramp entrance is now completely enclosed inside with no visibility to the outside world. So you have to get into a line for Gates 22-28, go inside, hang a right and walk about 50 yards or so to find the ramp.
For SHSU, once I realized I couldn't find the ramp as usual, I took a chance on Gate 22 and figured it out. For anybody who is either new or not sure of the process, it's completely not obvious.

I've heard it on the radio shows several times.
Which is great if you listened to the radio show. How about LSU posting a freaking sign where the old gate used to be saying something to the effect of "THIS GATE HAS MOVED, please use 22-28 for East Upper Ramp Entrance."
Had no clue initially how to get to the ramps for the first game. Then AFTER the first game they sent out the email to season ticket holders telling about the new ramp entrances.
Using the radio show is great, but how many people actually listen to that? Just put a sign up that communicates the new entrance, or even, you know, denote the new entrance on the seating chart outside the east side of the stadium. The easiest and most effective means of communicating directions at a sporting event is to post signage, and LSU has failed in that regard. It's a simple fix.

I mean if its your first time ever to TS i could see an issue. But that ramp has been there for over a decade now. It just doesnt seem like it takes a genius to walk over to the gate that has it enclosed now.

Thousands of people going into EU are from other schools attending their first game or buying one of the single game tickets from LSU.
Its NOT OK for LSU to assume everyone in the EU has known about the ramps for years. I knew there was a ramp there for game one but never took it. Did not know how to get to it or that they would allow me in through a gate that I would have had to guess that it led to the ramp.

Yea, I actually forgot that there was one on the East Side.

Telling everyone to get over it and figure out how to find the now hidden ramps isn't answering the basic question. Why f up what generally worked ok since the EU was built (and I've been there the entire time)? Two lines with enough scanners that both lines moved. Unless the escalator breaks (fairly often) or you've got really clueless Fess staff on the scanners, it worked. What idiot decided to change it? Did the fat cats demand more gate staff and scanners? Redeployed to the expansion area?

Not to mention that for the first game the ticket takers at 22-28 weren't sure if they should let people in. I tried at 22 and got turned away, walked over to the next gate, explained what I was trying to do, and that guy let me in. Then when I got to the ramp, there were Boy Scouts directing traffic and telling me I couldn't go up the ramp, it was closed. Told the kids thanks for the help, but I was going to give it a shot anyway.

When employees tell you the ramp is no longer operational, you would think they would know what they're talking about.
Unfortunately they were either unaware or lying. Regardless...it's a major problem.
Here's the issue:
The East Upper deck holds over 10K seats. Many can't walk up 15 ramp levels and then still traverse the steps to access their seats.
There is only one alternative which is a single escalator which breaks down every game. To compound the situation some genius decided to use only one line with only two scanners.
Tickets aren't any cheaper in this area than other areas. I know my seats are more expensive than most in the stadium. We should have similar access to the stadium as the other 90K fans.

LSU really screwed up by only printing GATE 9 on the EU tickets. They sent an email out last week, but apparently nobody reads those things. You can enter in the South gates 22-28, and then walk right over to the ramps that used to be accessible from the outside. I walked up a basically empty ramp while everybody else stood in line for the escalator
I felt so bad for them. What a cluster f#%k! Walked past all those miserable people in the needless line, over to gate 22-28 with zero line. Lots of scanners and no one to scan but the two of us.

Was anyone from LSU working the line and informing people that they could go to the ramps as well? My season tickets are in the EU, but I used a friend's seats in the lower bowl for the game so I didn't experience it. You'd think one person would take it on themselves to recognize the problem and then communicate an alternative entrance to that line of folks.

Has anyone heard if they're going to restrict it to one line again this weekend? I emailed to ask earlier this week but was only told Event Management was aware of the situation.
