Has anyone heard if they're going to restrict it to one line again this weekend? I emailed to ask earlier this week but was only told Event Management was aware of the situation.

I spoke with some people who would be making the changes. I believe they are going back to two lines but regardless will have extra staff and signage telling people to go to the SEZ gates.

It's supposedly going back to the normal way. From Bonnette's twitter today:

@LSUBonnette: @scottiep_1115 there will be lines from both the North EZ and South EZ that will feed to the escalators.

After speaking with their staff I was informed they would return to the former model for THIS game.

That's better but there are still several problems with this.

1) The recurring malfunctions to the escalator (and limited space) can't accommodate the number of seats in the upper deck.
2) The ramps are not an option for many people.
3) LSU wants absolutely no impacts at/near the entry gate (elevators) for the suites. They don't want lines or crowds inconveniencing these donors in any manner.
4) LSU doesn't want to spend a dime to fix the problem. They've changed the line formation...number of scanners...maintained workers on-site as they know the escalator will break every game...added barricades, etc. but still haven't addressed the main issue for over a decade.

Next time you're at the stadium take a look at the West Upper Deck. You'll notice they didn't repeat their mistake for that project. They knew the East Upper access was a cluster so they addressed it in the West Upper design.

Now it's time to find a permanent solution to address the East Upper access.

NOBODY should have to stand in line for 60 minutes just to access their seat!

There is more than ONE?

There is no doubt that having just one escelator that accesses the EUD is a problem in terms of getting flow up to the deck when a majority of the ticket holder hit the same spot at or around the same time...but what exactly are you advocating 14 years after the deck has been added? As you stated, they did not replicate this issue on the West...but are you suggesting LSU suddenly throw up an additional escalator with the myriad of other projects that are on the table that are much more needs rather than wants? You do realize there is NO WAY this happens before other needed renovations...right? Some day when they get to renovating the EUD I'd agree that this would make a fine addition. Until then, there's no way they spend money on this fix.

The only time I've stood in line was when I get there before they open the gates and I was a line of one. Every other time I walk up, show the "security" whatever I happen to have with me that game, have a scanner scan my ticket and I ride the escalator up. No stress, no packed line. Sure...I get there early, but if you don't like standing in lines, this works universally...whether it be the post office, the grocery store, or Tiger Stadium's EUD.

Many people? It's just a ton of walking. I guarantee you the majority of the people using the escalators are using them out of convenience and not necessity. Not dogging them. It's there for that, so why not? Just saying most of the East Upper could probably walk up the ramps.

I agree C. Just look at this picture. It's not a bunch of elderly and handicapped people. If my fat arse can ramp it anyone can. I do understand people with small children and older people though.

There's actually an elevator for handicapped/elderly to use to get to the East Upper. So the escalator is just a matter of convenience.

How do I get to this? I may need to use it when my father comes to a game with me.

Hopefully the signage addition helps. The biggest issue I find is that the workers don't know shite and there is nothing to point people in the right direction.

One of the elevators for the East Suites is reserved for Handicapped people for the East Upper Deck. I'd call and ask because I'm not sure if its just open to those who look like they need it, or those that have been given handicapped section tickets.

Agreed. If there wasn't a line in the past, I'd use it. Otherwise, I'd use the ramp. No freaking chance I'd wait in that line.

MANY of the upgrades we've made to the stadium are cosmetic. (windows, iron railings, paint, statues, plaques, etc.) I would consider accessing your seats more a "need" than those "wants".

I do enter the stadium before most fans but it didn't matter last week as it was a monumental cluster from the onset.

Options (arriving early, taking the ramps) are great to have but the question is...Why do these 10,000 fans not have the same access as everyone else in the stadium? They don't get reduced prices yet receive lower quality service.

I love LSU and have donated to almost every project they've created. (Band Hall, basketball, tennis, golf, stadium windows, academic center, Mike's habitat, etc.) and I have purchased a ton of bricks. Until something is done to correct the EUD problems my money will remain in my pocket. It's just that simple.

I didn't even know they had one. I always take the ramps, even when I sat in the nose bleeds.
