I guess if you were a real baller, you'd own the whole thing, but anyway...

If so, I have some questions, but initially: Do you own it for personal use or to make money or both?

I keep seeing nice Piper's and even a really nice Bellanaca for between 50-60k but I can't justify that.
Would go in a third or fourth though.

We have a 1/3 interest in a GIII but we're looking at going half in a G550 so we don't have to do the 2015 upgrades. Assuming you're looking for actual answers.

My ex wife boss (doctor) owned one, owned half of one, and owned a chopper.

I was at a bar last year and I made small talk with this guy. He was upset because his mother was dying. Anyways, he said he had to leave so he could catch his flight. I asked him where home was and he said, "Columbus". I replied, "Ohio?". He looked at me strange and said, "Mississippi".

That's only a 2 1/2 hour drive. Come to find out, he was a billionaire or something. Had his own plane. I'm jelly.

Work something out with them

They can advise you and give you several different options to achieve what it is you're trying to do.

We work with them on several different business ventures and are very open to making deals.

Remember, they arent in the equipment business, they are in the investing business.. They dont want all this inventory just sitting around.

Even if I were to become insanely wealthy, this is the one luxery I'd forego. Financial commitment aside, I'll take the safety record of the commericial air industry over that of private flights any day. I'll have to make due with Delta's shitty lounges and shitty first class for my perks.

The company I use to work for had a few. Sales bonuses included use of the jets!

I own part of a business with family members where the business buys time on a flex jet card (just like Marquis Jet). It's a very small light jet (6 seater) and I have never been on it.

Before I bought into the business they owned 1/4 share in a Beechcraft turboprop but it was cheaper to go with the jet card.

OP, what kind of plane is it?

Another thread about simple GA planes, turns into a "baller-off" competition of private jets

making money on aircraft is almost impossible, at least for the owner.

Pops has a Cessna Skyhawk that he flies for shits and giggles (and I like to think smuggling runs), but we're not baller enough to have a jet.

unless you're in the airline business, airplanes are not investments or moneymakers, it's kind of like a yacht, you want it because you want it and that's the only justification, I've a friend who retired on top of the corporate world who's had company owned jets from the cheapest up to leasing the Concorde, his take is that there's no justification except for limiting wear and tear on the CEO, so that he/she can work and rest on the flight, and be ready to hit the ground working when you get there

My uncle owns a Citation II, King Air and Cessna 414.

I don't own a share but have utilized his fleet in the past:)

I am extremely fortunate that I get to fly 4-6 times a month on a G650

Glad to see so many aviation enthusiasts here. Personally I've flown everything from Beechjets and Lears to King Airs and Cessnas. I'd love to own a nice Cirrus or Bonanza one day
