re: Helicopter tour/rides (posted outdoors as well) - Furbs311 on 1/24/16 at 6:00 am
Does it have to be a helicopter? I don't live in BR, but look up the local flight school. They usually do sight seeing tours at reasonable rates in Cessna 172 or similar, which is great for low level viewing. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
Club Rain
Might be exactly what an Ole Miss fan is looking for  And please do yourself a huge favor and stay away from the Paula Dean restaurant. Savannah has so many good places to eat, and that definitely isn't one of them.. Alligator Soul, Pink House, Garibaldi's, Cryst...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Savannah, GA - Furbs311 on 1/14/16 at 7:43 pm
I work in Savannah. Stay on/close to river and Bay Street, most of the bars are between the river and Broughton, wouldn't wander much further than that at night. It's a cool town, lots of history, laid back. Personally I like Charleston better but Savannah has its up sides. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: OT Pilots -WYFI - Furbs311 on 1/14/16 at 7:22 pm
I've flown the King Air 90, 100, 200, and 300. The 1900 is a 19 pax plane that regional airlines use to use, not so much anymore. Most common is the 200 which holds around 6 comfortably. It's an awesome bird..smooth, pressurized, and turbine. You'll enjoy the ride. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Massive Fire in Dubai Skyscraper - Furbs311 on 1/1/16 at 6:50 pm
I was there last month as well for work. As previously stated its clean and I felt very safe. Heck, seems like 80% of the city is ex-pat. The gold market/old Dubai felt a bit more "authentic". To me it was kind of blah.. Worlds tallest building next to the worlds largest mall..full of Five Guys, Tex...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)

re: Looking for a good pair of earbuds - Furbs311 on 11/26/15 at 7:28 pm
Don't know about deals, but I recently got a pair of the Bose QC 20s and so far have no complaints. First ear buds I've had that are comfortable to wear for long periods of time and don't fall out when running, etc ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: How crazy do you have to be to fly through a hurricane? - Furbs311 on 10/24/15 at 6:30 am
From the wing and cockpit shots it looks like NOAAs P-3. I don't know much about hurricane hunters, but the turboprop might be better for certain data collection missions, like being able to fly lower and slower for longer periods of time. NOAA does have a Gulfstream but I think it's used for measur...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Best Headset for Traveling - Furbs311 on 10/6/15 at 4:50 am
Good info. Bacon, the battery thing gives me pause too. From what I read the battery will last 16 hours for 500 cycles and then degrade from there, so it's not like it stops working but there's no way to know how long it will last. Probably my biggest hang up ...

Best Headset for Traveling - Furbs311 on 10/5/15 at 8:14 pm
I do a good bit of international traveling and I'm looking for recommendations on headsets for those 10+ hour flights. I've been using the Bose QC 15s but I'm thinking about trying the QC 20. I've never been much of an earbud guy but I like to sleep with the noise canceling on and the on-ear headpho...

I'm guessing Darla Moore B-School is high and dry? I'm coming from Hilton Head for an all day Saturday class (thanks USC) if the roads are clear by then. Hoping for a class cancellation so I can use my tickets! ...

re: Any OT pilots? - Furbs311 on 8/12/15 at 6:19 am
I've shared my story here before. I started doing flight training out of high school at a local airport while starting college classes. By the time I finished my degree I had all my ratings. I got a job with a corporate flight department, basically doing whatever they would let me, washing planes, a...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
