That is about the worst performance by the TE position group I can remember. Dickson fumbled and dropped another would be 1st down pass on a great throw by AJ. Gordon was a turn style trying to pass block. Smith dropped a ball that hit him in the chest. He went down to the ground to catch it and he could easily caught it standing up and gone for huge yards....Instead he clanked it.

I don't think this group is as bad as they played and I believe cam is going drill their bbutts over the next couple weeks. This group needs to be a position of strength for us

I agree they will get better.

They didn't do much for getting more balls thrown their way going forward. Dickson fumble probably puts him in Miles doghouse.

I chalk up most of mistakes to first game jitters but when veterans are the ones making some of those mistakes it's a little alarming.

Three upcoming games to work out kinks before SEC play except for MSU in the middle of it but at least it's home.

I just hope Miles doesn't go too vanilla in these games because if they play the way they did the first half Sam Houston and ULM could hang around. Sam Houston does have some offense and ULM did beat Wake.

Smith only needs to be in around goaline situations

Logan Stokes was a turnstyle, too.

I'd like to see the JUCO kid, Jeter.

Absolutely. Jennings needs that security blanket to throw to. Idk if Jennings struggles with those throws but I was surprised there wasn't a lot of short or intermediate passes thrown over the middle

It's time for Ensminger to be held accountable for out TE corp. There is no excuse for them looking that sloppy Saturday night.

I think they'll get better too, and I don't know about y'all, but I'm getting about tired of these cutsey plays where someone other than a running back or wide receiver touches the ball, and fumbles at a critical point in the game.

Who was it, Copeland?, that fumbled on the 1 freakin pube hair line against Alabama? Now a Dickson fumble? IIRC, he was more of a safey valve on that play, and it wasn't designed to go to him, but just sayin.

Seems like our non RB's/non WR's fumble alot (in proportion to their carries).

I think it comes down to us having a shitty TE coach. He does nothing with the talent he recruits and only has a job because he somehow recruits good talent.

Desean Smith has some of the best hands you will ever find on a TE. That was the first ball thrown to him in the first game of the season. Cut the guy some slack, we are very lucky to have him on our roster and he will do BIG things for us!

The TE group needs their arse handed to them.....as does their coach.

The performance was easily the worst of the night.

Gordon's was shameful.

Pass to Smith didn't hit him in the chest but was a very catchable ball. He didn't need to go down to his knees to catch it, but he did which lowered his head level making it more difficult to catch. If he caught that while staying up he maybe scores after the catch.

Who cares about the TE play? I never understood why people on here complain so much about lack of TEs in the passing game. LSU got out of there with a "W". Do people really think that lack of production from the TE position is holding the team back?

I really would like Coach Miles and/or Coach Cam to address this issue at the press conference. Why was the TE play so abysmal? In other words, WTF is going on with developing our TEs. If it's coaching, then own it and say so. And secondly, what are they going to do to make it better. Do they have plan in place specifically to address it? Do they need to call in some sort of TE whisperer? Seriously?
