I got a new pair of glasses and walked in my moms house and she started laughing and said "you look like Buddy Holly!"

If you get glasses, make sure and get a few contacts for when you need to take your eye exam for a new license. Put contacts in, tell attendant you don't wear contacts, pass eye test, and don't get a restriction on your license.

I fail to see what benefit this serves.

Putting in contacts is a breeze. Glasses are becoming much more stylish nowadays though so you should be good.

I edited for farsighted... I can never keep them straight.

It is not as successful for people that can't see close up. Or so the doc told me

I'm 38 and just got glasses and contacts for the first time 2 weeks ago after several months of close call injuries on the tennis court. Glasses = amazing. I really had no idea that I wasn't seeing very clearly before getting my glasses.

I'm struggling with my contacts. At best, they feel "squishy" all the time and are distracting. On the tennis court, it's an experiment. I've tried playing with both contacts, left only, right only and tomorrow will be no contacts. They seem to throw off my depth perception and can't keep up with the speed of the ball. Might be better to track speed but be blurry. Still trying to adjust.

If 1950's style is you, do it.

Don't go for trendy, do what
makes you feel like a real man.

Rock that shite.

Because some people don't wear contacts all the time or have their glasses on them all the time, and you will get a ticket for that.

FTR I'm right at the legal cutoff to drive.

I wear sunglasses like it's my job... Since the sandbox, I can't go outside without them... Is it stupid expensive to get polarized wayfarer prescription lenses?

I assume I can use my current frames?

If I wear contacts AND prescription sunglasses, is that bad?

I'm not excited about carrying around another set of glasses everywhere..

This is what I was looking for... Someone who is in my situation.

Any more advice would be appreciated.

I've never gotten prescription sunglasses. I just wear contacts most days when it's sunny so I can wear my shades.

Of course if you only wear one contact your depth perception will be fricked up. That's just common sense.

Not true. I'm a lil near sighted and have a slight astigmatism and I've had no issues with contacts.

Yankee.....After wearing glasses and contacts now for a several years.....my eyesight has actually improved a lil without them. Maybe cause I'm not straining my eyes so much cause I'm wearing glasses/contacts? Who knows. But last eye exam they changed my prescription a tiny bit...for the better.

It's just how the procedure is... It just isn't as successful for how they manipulate the retina.

My mom had glasses as a kid. My dad got them in his 50's. I figure I have 20 or so more years.
