Nah. Only a select few spend $4k on a set. Most serious golfers spend $500-1000.

You insulted a lot of posters, acted like an authority on criminal matters, then read the article and realized (or didn't) your mistakes.

You're full of anger, bruh.

What would you say if I told you my two main hobbies are golf and cycling?

We could create a sort of polo-esque game where you ride a bike and hit golf balls with clubs toward a hole

I would love to see the cost valuation on that one.

Then again, people overpay for cars

coming from someone who personally watched his friend make $10,000 off a used cannondale on ebay, i would say they hold their value.

The Five Star golf club set from the Japanese manufacturer called Honma is the most expensive set currently on the market. By set, the company means drivers, woods, irons, wedges and putter, along with the bag, tees and head covers. The Honma Five Star golf set has 14 pieces, each made out of gold and platinum. The brand is especially popular in Japan, though there are some prominent celebrity users in the United States, like the actors Jack Nicholson and Danny DeVito. This club set is priced at $32,000.

I guess that's a set of golf clubs.

The ex-wife does triathalons... She has a $10K bike. Has two other bikes worth several thousand as well. They take this stuff very seriously. I don't get it, but I guess if you are going to do an Ironman, you want the best.

Incidentally, I have a $500 bike that works really well.

for you, probably so.

but if you wanted to compete in races you'd quickly realize that isn't going to cut it unless you like riding 49 miles out of a 50 mile race solo.

"Ben Cox, owner of the Newbury Park Bicycle Shop, in Newbury Park, Calif., says he sells five to 10 bikes a week at $10,000 or more. For a handful of his customers, Mr. Cox says, "there is no ceiling."

it's usually million dollar freds who only do t-shirt rides dropping this much coin on a bike.

that being said, if they've got it, spend it i guess.

though i wonder at what price point the gains become increasingly marginal?

How is that thing better than the $45 per week "cruiser" I rented in Florida this past summer?
