I don't necessarily care for a running QB, but I LOVE QB's that can extend plays. Big Ben used to be freaking legit at it.

The bad thing about RGIII is that he's horrible at sliding to avoid the tackle. He relies too much on his speed that the risk is more than the reward.

Thanksgiving 2012 dude had like 4 TDs in 10 attempts against Dallas, he runs a 4.35 and he can put the ball pretty much where ever he wants.

If he's failing its not due to lack of talent.

More than Johnny Football? Tim Tebow? Michael Sam? Tony Romo?

kige this

I'm kinda dreading him sucking because there's going to be a regular dialogue with racial undertones most likely... sort of the michael vick pre dog killing thing where any criticism of him is viewed as racially based by some black fans and some white fans think every person who talks him up loves him because he's black.

The enjoyable thing about ragging on Tebow was not having to worry about this stuff

Yep. Took a big hit in today's game. Dude is going to get hurt again if he doesn't learn to run out of bounds or slide.

Dude, look at all the qbs that have won championships and tell me how many were running qbs please. In the last 25 years you can say Steve Young (which was an elite hall of fame PASSER) and Wilson (best defense since 2000 Ravens imo). Stop listing 40 times like its an actual QB skill.

Its due to a lack of him being able to make 2nd and 3rd reads, just like a lot of QBs that end up flaking.

He can run a 4.35 all he wants, guess what, 3-4 linebackers/safeties close in on him, they'll punish him like they did today when he should have ran out of bounds, but decided to take the inside cut.

Keep doing that, his career will be Vick 2.0

For all of Vick's 'magic' with his feet, he's more durable than RG3 and Vick is considered injury prone

Wilson isn't a running QB IMO. Being mobile is fine as long as you avoid hits and use it to buy time. Even Kaep is great at avoiding hits in the regular season

Wilson, Rodgers, Big Ben, and Brees can all extend plays with their legs

Cam seems to do fine with it. I know he hasn't won a championship but I don't see how he can get 14 rushing TD's and it be seen as a detriment.

Cam also knows how to slide and run out of bounds. RGIII straight up takes the tackle.

Well their offense was pretty terrible last year, but I also think that Cam would use his legs to buy time if he had better receivers and Oline. He knows when to duck a hit too and is a bigger freak of nature (IMO) than RG3. He's a fullback with a good arm and HB speed.

This is true. Cam has known when to get down since he came into the league. When he does take a hit then obviously it's not nearly as damaging to his body. There haven't been many QB's like Cam with his combination of size and mobility, but just because that style of play hasn't won a Super Bowl yet doesn't mean it can't be done.

It's because he lost his running ability.

Look at the difference between his rookie season and last seasons #s... Completion % was 5% lower. Yards was pretty even. 4 fewer TDs but played 2 games less than he did his rookie year. All those things are close from his rookie year to last year. The big difference was that he wasn't nearly as big a threat running the ball. 0 rushing TDs last year and over 300 yards fewer rushing. And when he did run, he wasn't confident in it and pretty much ran scared and got the shite knocked out of him a few times.

Teams were able to just QB-spy him with an athletic LB/DB and contain rush with the DL and drop everyone else into coverage. Teams forced RG3 to beat them with his passing and decision making while throwing the ball against a max coverage... And he isn't good at it. Which is why he threw 12 INTs last year.

You take away his running ability and force him to beat you with his arm against a max coverage D, he's an average to below average nfl QB. If he can't get his legs back and his running ability, Kirk Cousins could take over.

Remember when some people thought RG3 should have been selected #1 in the draft, ahead of Luck? idiots.
