It doesn't take much effort to find good local places.

Uncle O's is another one. It's a bar and grill environment that serves good seafood.

I like the food but no one goes there for the bar unless they are over fifty, and that's being generous

Ouncy Borne an old friend. Best gumbo in town.

Zorbas is my current place. Great Greek and some good Greek wines. Make a reservation for the weekend.

Ninos another favorite of mine. Make a reservation.

Louie's Cafe is my favorite place in the city. It's a diner. They make the best hash browns on earth and good hamburgers.

OP, if you go here just make sure you're shitfaced and/or stoned first

Been hitting up this place at least 2 times a month for the past 7 months or so. I really like what the chef has been doing and it's nice to be a regular someplace. Is there a better, more consistent restaurant in BR?

I'll have to check out Zorba's soon.

I laughed out loud the other day when I came across a huge display of Monjuni's bottled sauce at Whole Foods.

I have only been once, but it was water and tomatoes when I went
One of the reasons I've never been back. That, and the building gives me the eebie jeebies.
But that was a long time ago, so maybe I just caught a bad batch.

Granted, Monjuni's is just okay as well. I don't love it either.

I'm a fan of Gino's and, even though the restaurant itself isn't mega impressive, the red sauce at Little Village is delicious.

To this day, the best lasagna I've had in BR was at Marcello's on Perkins when it was still around. RIP
