Georges on Perkins....great neighborhood bar..best burger in town

No.

Agreed. I set foot in there last weekend for the first time and thought it was a dump. Not bad for a dive bar, though. However, the burger was really disappointing so I won't be back. There are better options at places like Raul's, Akasha Express, and 5 Guy's.

Hey, if George's doesn't want the criticism, they just need to season their hamburger patties better. The toppings were great (could have used a good BBQ sauce option, though), the burger was juicy and cooked to the right temperature, right texture, but it had almost no flavor of it's own. With just a little seasoning, it could almost compete with the Juicy Juicy

Galatoire's Bistro has good lunch deals and the food is quite good. There's a nice patio for good weather, as well. It's more casual than the New Orleans restaurant.

Get the chargrilled oysters in the bar at Mansur's. I enjoy eating in Mansur's bar. It's more casual than the rest of the restaurant. Not a bad place to watch sports (no sound, though), eat oysters and drink.

I also highly recommend Nino's. Great fresh food with in house made pastas. Good lunch deals.

Acme has good chargrilled oysters, but not as good as Mansur's. Oysters on the half shell are fine, there, and the fried seafood is decent, not my favorite by any means, but it's good enough.

I really enjoy the smoked boudin and smoked wings at Bergeron's in Lobdell just over the bridge. The meat pies they make there are pretty good also. They have many other products, as well.

Tsunami downtown has nice views, good sushi and some other good dishes.

I have Anthony's Deli on my list, but I've just never been there due to the current location. It's moving at some point to more of a mid city location, though. Gets a lot of love here.

We got to Anthony's once a week for lunch. Just about everything we have tried is great. I'm going to miss it when they move Downtown. They NEED to move though. It is so cramped in there.

Going to georges and not getting the grilled chicken club is a rookie mistake
