i've heard people say they will ship you the arms to replace yourself is this possible?

The worst part about sending them off is going without glasses for 2-3 weeks... Talk about sucks.
I tried going get a cheapo pair at academy to tie me over and everything under $100 was trasssssshhhhhhhh

My Optometrist swears by MJ's. Says they are the best on the market. She also sells Coasta's but told me if I ever wore a pair of MJ's I would throw my Coasta's away. I told her she was FOS and that her margins must be better on the MJ's but I have yet to take her up on the challenge.

Maui Jim has replaced several pair for me free of charge. Excellent company. You get what you pay for with them. I think their polarization is better than Costa anyway.
I've sent several pair of Costas back and had to pay for every one. They have been my fault, but it's still expensive as hell. They totally screw you on replacement costs. The last time a pair broke because of poor quality from them. They denied it and tried to charge me $100 to repair them. I filed a complaint with the BBB and they changed their tune real quick.

I bought my Costas a few years back. I broke a glass lens in the glovebox.
Not wanting to pay for it, I just threw them in the toolbox and forgot about them. A few years later I pulled them out and sent them in.
For $12 I got a new lens and new frames. Apparently the heat in the toolbox got to them and caused more damage, and they covered that.
I have no complaints, they honored the warranty for me.

Costa - We warrant Costa Sunglasses against defects in materials or workmanship for the lifetime of the product.
Maui Jim - Iron Clad Warranty – Our sunglasses are warranted to the original purchaser for two years from the date of purchase against any defect in materials and workmanship.
Neither company would carry an accidental damage replacement, they would go broke, every fisherman would run over their glasses yearly to get a new pair.

thanks for posting that. shite, you'd think MJ would have a lifetime warranty for the prices they're charging but i can't see myself staying with a pair of glasses for over 3 years anyway.

I haven't had a pair of MJ's in a few years, so I don't know what the latest and greatest is. Mine were Poly. I had a bronze/brown color for fishing and a grey pair for driving. I loved them. Repaired them both for free. Eventually lost them.
I had the hookup on Costas, so I bought a a few pair of them over the last several years. I only have glass lenses and the 580 glass is really good. I've had to replace all of them as well and it costs a ton to do so. I would rather give my money to a company that I know will take care of me when I send something back, especially with a wear item like glasses. I have way more faith in MJ to do that than CDM. My next set will be MJs.
Here is a pretty good thread about it on THT

Yall need to plan ahead. Get on Amazon or Steep and Cheap or Sierra Trading Post and you can regularly get Costas/Serengetis/etc. for less than 100 bucks. They probably won't be your favorite frames, but they make for great back ups. If you like glass as I do, I've scored a number of Serengetis from STP, which IMO make the best non-fishing lens out there.

should have gotten Oakleys...Costas are a fad...Oakleys are like Converse AllStars and blue jeans...they will never go out of style...

I didn't think Oakleys had been in style for 15 years?

I had a pair of costas and lenses were delaminating sent them in and they would not honor the warrenty – that’s the last pr I owned. I have gone w/ MJs or Bolle and any warrenty service has just been shipping. Between losing sunglasses, running them over etc I stopped buying sunglasses for every day that were more than $100 a long time ago …….
My MJs were more than $100 and I loved em but a meth head must have liked them more – broke my truck window for glasses, GPS and change in console …….
