OP expected to be blown away by fish sticks (which he admits are decent with lemon and tartar), two soups, and hush puppies. He liked the lamb skewers.
Its not defending, but if I went to Le Bernardin and ordered steak and said "I dont know, it didnt blow me away" that would be user error.

No one said those are dishes no one should order or they're bad. It's knowing what to order if you want the best possible experience at a particular restaurant.
