So what's the one real differential that I fond myself wishing was better? The camera.

see I don't really give a crap about all of this apple vs android stuff. They are both good OS and both have good hardware. Apple has issues, Android phones have issues (depending on what one you get) If you want a good camera with your phone don't get an apple. I want something that seamlessly integrates and is in union with my apple computer, and my iPad. The iPhone does that for me.

No, its not. Once you go from stock to wiz/sense then you will fully understand how bad both are

phones are not really phones anymore they are small computers that can make phone calls.

Disagree. Computers are used for creating content, phones and tablets are for consuming content. People use their phones for dumb stuff: interneting, chatting with babes, etc...

I have to agree that these hamper the performance overall. I prefer to stay closer to pure Android but not all manufacturer "exclusive" mods are similarly negative. As example, the Moto X has some uniqueness that actually enhances the phone enabling it to equal or surpass the benchmarks of phones with superior specs. Comparing Android to Apple is tricky - iPhones are pretty much identical within series but in Android, the hardware is radically different from brand to brand & model to model - not to mention, builders proprietary mods to the operating system. This is not all a necessarily a bad thing though, it drives competition and produces innovative advances in both hardware & software.

My take is that both systems have a natural niche. For kids getting their first smart phone, those with a number of integrated Apple devicses, people who are more comfortable using a phone "as delivered" then, iPhone is a natural choice. If you are tech savvy, want cutting edge technology, enjoy customization & personalization, like to install custom ROM's and generally make the device "yours" then, Android it is. I use Android and cannot see an iPhone in my future. On the other hand, my wife uses iPhone and considering the amount of times I have to lend her a hand on how to do this or that, she would be a disaster using my phone - all those extraneous "clicks" would have her in trouble very quickly.

The wife's iPhone 5s just lost her contacts and won't update properly now. I will never own an iPhone. My next phone will be a Nexus.

Cracks me up when people say this considering I'd be willing to bet that was due to user error, which a simple backup would have prevented

It cracks me up that most of the time this is the response when someone has a problem with an iPhone.

You are probably the first person I have ever heard hate on the Note 3. I hate that I have not been able to root it, but I have had zero problems out of it. Don't mistake this for my chit is better than your chit response, just saying.

I just got tired of TouchWiz bogging the phone down really.. The m8 is much much muccchhh snappier. And the size of the n3 got a little obnoxious after a while.. It was a chore to flip through songs on pandora while trying to drive

Ok...well go ahead and explain what happened. How could you just all of a sudden lose all your contacts? Phones don't do whatever they want, clearly something had to happen for that to happen.

I have no idea what happened. It may very well be user error. I was simply stating that the most common first response to “my iPhone messed up" is "well what did YOU do to mess it up? Because clearly is not the fault of the iPhone".

Just like when an app lags or crashes on iOS it is the fault of the app but when it happens on Android it's because Android sucks.

Issue, yes. Problem, no. Charge it at night, have it all day.

I'm sure it will get better but I bought a phone, not a camera.

Apple had a good idea with the touchscreen phone in the beginning and have been playing catch up ever since.

Also, not everyone wants a massive screen. I don't need a phone that I have to squeeze in my pocket.

5 inches is not massive. Look at your dick for comparison.

Most of the time?

"It just works"..."and when it doesn't it's your fault."
