I don't think he was doing anything malicious. But the fact that he could and I wouldn't know one way or the other doesn't sit well with me. I don't believe he will fly it over my property again. There is an empty lot next to him where he can play with it as much as he wants
What would you consider malicious here? He'd have to get pretty darn aggressive to really do anything that could remotely effect you

She can't, but I'm fairly certain a neighbor can't park a video camera 60 feet above her backyard.

Pretty sure you do own air rights in LA above your private property. Not sure about anywhere else.

You wouldn't consider someone taking pictures of your 3 and 5 year old daughters swimming malicious? To each their own I guess. Like I said, I don't believe that he was. But he knows where I stand on it now

Not positive but I believe the useful airspace is considered somewhere around 25 ft. After that is pretty much considered to be community or something along those lines.
Pg 18, 1st paragraph

Why do you bring an issue here and get surprised by the clowning and trolling?
Shoot the fricking thing down with a water hose.
If that doesn't work, kill your neighbor and burn his house down with his body in it.

Tell that to google.
Google takes low quality still shots from space and also low quality shots for street view that are taken from public roads (I'm on several street view shots by the way and have no issue w it).
Comparing that to 1080p video taken while trespassing on someone's backyard is comparing apples to oranges.
Drones and privacy laws are going to be a very big deal soon.
They are cheap and can take high quality video remotely. Not a good combo.

Just get another rc radio & crash it

The face of every person in a Google image that is of enough resolution to be identified is intentionally blurred, even if it is a photo on a random billboard.

Shoot it down just to piss him off. Record it & leave the video at his door step

Doesn't work that way. The controller and receiver in the quadcopter have to bind together before they will work. They jump frequencies together so that another controller can't screw with them.

He is across the street. It was most definitely over my yard about 75ft above the ground
He's trespassing then. Your property goes up into the sky for a little bit.

Yep you do pretty much everywhere. That's why there's legal airspace so people can't claim planes are trespassing etc

Miniature EMP device is needed or a battery of those 25 shot rocket fireworks.

This morning as I was leaving the house a Hot Air Balloon was flying very low over the top of my house....let's just say I was in the back yard in a compromising position, would I have the legal authority to shoot the balloon down?

I would use as water hose to take it out. That way they can't accuse you of using a firearm inappropriately. There are no laws against spraying water.
Just say it was a sprinkler.

Roman candles would work or crossbow with monofilament attached to the bolt

The way I see it you have 2 options:
-have a your wife go topless and douse the little bastard when he pans in for the close up with colostrum
-more reasonably, you can purchase a projector for the back yard. Project canine images onto the drone. Contact local authorities and "let nature take its course". An airborne dog would definitely warrant lethal force...
