re: Chris Paul considering sitting out next season if Sterling is still owner

Bill Russell faced consistent racial harassment in Boston during a time when public opinion wasn't overwhelmingly on his side. I'm glad he had more fortitude than some of the players and coaches of today.
And what exactly is Chris Paul's gripe in sitting out? Is he insinuating that the league hasn't done everything in its power to remove Sterling as quickly as possible? I mean the motherfricker got banned FOR LIFE by the commissioner himself. Ron Artest assaulted paying customers with his bare hands DURING A GAME and got a fraction of that punishment.
In the league and throughout the media, nobody is supporting what Sterling said. I could see Chris Paul's point if everyone had just turned a blind eye, but that could not be further from what has happened. The only people he'd be hurting by sitting out are the ones on his side.

quote:In theory, it really would be noble. But throw in like you said the fact that he's already been banned for life AND that his racist views were well known before this, and it definitely loses all of the noble...ness.
I like how NBA players think that sitting out proves some kind of noble point when in reality, it just makes them look narrowminded. Sitting out and punishing your team, fans and league all because of one old racist that's already getting booted from the league? Genius!

So retarded if the coach and players refuse to play because his is the owner. Get over it already jesus.

He is the one always complaining about getting a championship, but might sit out. Paul and Doc Rivers are being drama queens about this whole thing.

Would be funny if he sat out and Sterling sued his arse for it.

I do find the fake outrage of posters over Paul's fake outrage to be pretty entertaining though.

Irrelevant
I like you, but we will disagree here. Paul could have gone to almost any team, but chose the Clippers. If he was a fringe player, or drafted by the organization, I could understand why it would be irrelevant.

He was traded there.
And these guys are full of shite. Just trying to put pressure on.
Doc and CP3 won't sit.

I know. He also had a decent enough say on where he went. He also signed an extension with the Clips.

that is all you have to say to render his argument null and void.
He got traded there because he wanted to be in a large market with another star to build around. He approved of the trade himself.
He signed the extension with them, KNOWING that Sterling is a huge POS.
And now because it's out in the open, he 'wants to sit out and not play for a racist'.
PR Stunt.

I'll never understand why the MSB is so angry at Doc and now CP3 over this.

Because they really are no different from those guys that back down from initial confrontation, then start yelling 'hold me back' as soon as their friends step in to break everything up
