I wouldn't. Tigers Farm System is terrible.

Yeah.

A .215 hitter, Detroit's 5th starter, and a kid hitting .260 in A ball.

Rays fans should just be delirious with joy.

This is absolutely the end of Andrew Friedman in Tampa.

Man the splooge fest over the A's and Tigers is strong on MLB network. Really hoping the Angels can make a push and go deep into the playoffs this year, but I'm not overly optimistic.

Apparently Astros just traded Jarred Cosart to the Marlins. Not sure about this move, as Cosart has been the 2nd best pitcher in rotation for majority of the year.

Yes way, until his awful July he went from 2nd week of April through June without any starts being less than a Quality Start.

He was bad in April (1-2, 5.52) and horrific in July. He's the third or fourth best starter on a below average MLB staff.

Starts from April 23-June 26:

LINK

12 starts -
10 Quality Starts (2 non QS he still was credited with the Win and allowed 3 earned in 1 and 1 earned in other, but did not get 6 innings)
7-3 Record
76.2 Innings pitched
23 Earned runs over Period

Show me besides Keuchel where the stros got a streak better than that for that long period of time? I know he had bad July and early April, this is why I said majority of the year.

He had sub 3 ERA in both May and June that you're choosing to look over and was outstanding during that time period. He fell off in July, but the kid is only 24 and has shown plenty of upside for his future.

Being good for two months doesn't balance out being atrocious for a month and two thirds. If you think he's been the Astros second best starting pitcher this year I'm not sure what to tell you, and even if he was that doesn't make the trade bad since their rotation is nothing to write home about

So who are the favorites now after the deadline?

As a Dodgers fan, I wouldn't say they are #1, but they'll be contending every season for the foreseeable future.

I just was stating for the majority of the year. Overall, I think McHugh and Feldman have just as much upside if not more. I just hope Moran can turn into what we hope one day.

I'm not sure on the Tigers.... Price/Max is great but Verlander has been meh....

Oakland upgraded their rotation significantly...
The Yankees made a few small moves to help the club....
Dodgers did nothing
Cardinals upgraded their rotation in theory but still lack hitting

A's and Tigers would be my guess, but you never know with the Angels still there, which could put the A's in the one game wild card.

Yeah, that's kind of the story of Cosart though. He's inconsistent as shite, even within games. He would cruise through the middle of the order then labor with 7-8-9. His command was always unpredictable. I just don't see him being more than he is

it would help if Votto could be worth a shite again.
