I didn't realize that was her.

Hopefully she'll get a few lines in the next one.

Great movie. Serkis was amazing. Some of the best CGI I've ever seen.
I agree.

I've never had more compassion for a CGI character as I had for Caesar and his family. Very well done.
Quite possibly I agree with that too.
It was pretty amazing that the first movie made you empathize with the apes so much and showed what garbage humans are and then this one makes you lean towards the apes becoming garbage and empathizing with the humans.
The whole battle scene I was thinking about how many of the apes were just getting mowed down yet there were still hundreds. Where were all the apes in the woods? The tank was taking down about 10 at a time and it fired several times.

I feel like the movie didn't make you empathize with the apes or the humans necessarily. It was an adaptation of real life issues, IMO. There is good and bad on both sides.

Most concise description I can give I have to go
Tense
You don't feel desensitized to the violence
Black and white beginning...grays as it moves forward
Koba is a top 10 maybe top 5 movie villain and I loved that Gary oldman wasn't the villain despite it being the obvious choice
Rife with subtext both subtle and not but never beats you over the head
Iconic images...visually, it is brilliant
Hand it best picture right now and give serkis his oscar

Which was gret because it felt like it was headed and could have easily gone the "humans suck" direction
Like I said black and white and just grays goin forward
There is maybe 1:30 without action and it is TENSE

Koba was the main villain and he was an ape. I felt like there was good and bad on both sides. I think It showed the horrors of war, but also showed the necessities. If you look closley it's really one of the best war movies ever made.

**Spoilers**
Could not agree more. Love how commercials led you to think he'd be the guy too. Hell, I was almost on Oldman's side

Just got back and thought the movie was amazing. One of my top 3 movies experiences of all time. My wife even loved it.

I'm crushing on this one hard... It's the most fun I've had at the movies in my lifetime. I'll have to see it again for sure but it's dawn and empire then everything else as far as my favorite movies go
I'm a sci fi lover so if I regret this upon further review...whatever

I think I am too. I went to the new Auburn theater and saw it on the 80 foot screen. Holy shite that was bad arse.

Now I have to buy rise because it's now 20x better and to supplement my upcoming dawn purchase

It really was good. This and Edge of Tomorrow are easily my favorites with Godzilla following up. I am also a sucker for sci fi but this movie definitely had the most going for it. Looking forward to the next one.

Just got back. Freaking EPIC movie. Really enjoyed it and will likely go see it again. Hell of a performance from Serkis. Give him the oscar. Would be well-deserved.

Dreyfus is 100% relatable, he isn't reprehensible, irrational or hateful. He's just as pragmatic as Caesar or Malcolm
In the end he wants to blow them all to hell, after what he just witnessed and has been through...it's a rational decision.
Koba is the only evil person/monkey in the movie. We understand how he became so maniacal but he's still just pure evil.
