Looks like a pretty decent line-up - should be interesting to see how Cou and Lallana play together and move around.

Hoping Balo goes off for a few goals - need to get him rolling.

Well, that was nerve racking... great heads up play from Manquillo..

Our defense needs to get better... no two ways about it!

I was watching on my phone while at work, but I thought both Moreno and Manquillo played well. The CB pairing seems to be troublesome for me. I'm going to watch the full replay as soon as I get home.

I was watching on my phone as well. Hard to see all the Ludogoret players in their green kits.

Game felt a bit 2012/13ish with all the possession, none of the scores and a disastrous late lapse. Glad to see the boys kept fighting and won all 3 points.

Regardless, it feels fantastic to get to discuss a CL performance, even if it wasn't our best! It's been far too long.

I really thought Sakho-Lovren would be our go-to partnership at the back. Obviously they may need more time to gel together but I'm interested to see what happens when Skrtel is fit again.

I think the Lucas and Gerrard pairing again reared its ugly head on that goal. Caught Sakho out and he was screwed, Lovren wasn't able to cut off the pass, and Mignolet just looked uncomfortable as usual off his line.

The goals were huge though, no matter how the came IMO. Mario and Coutinho were really struggling and pressing to try and make something happen I think, but Mario held up play well. Hopefully the goals gave them a little more confidence because 180 minutes without a goal wouldn't have been very good. Here's to hoping we get healthy soon because we could use Sturridge as well.

3 points!

I'm 40' in watching the replay. I can't remember the last time our passing was this off. It seems every pass had to be chased.

Maybe its just me, but you can see the players starting to click on the offensive end... just not quite on the same page..

Coutinho just seemed to be trying too hard, I don't know if thats CL pressure or pressure to keep his place in the team or the Selecao.. Cou giving the ball away carelessly got Moreno caught out too far up the field, though he recovered and saved our asses right before Balo scored..

Lallana is just rusty IMO, but he gets himself in some dangerous positions for the defense..

I'm also disappointed in the Lovren/Sakho partnership and am not sure who our best pairing will be when Skrtel is back...

IMO We need an upgrade, not just competition, for Mignolet next season..

edit: Moreno's tackle

Those two FBs play with reckless abandon. And I absolutely love it. They're your old school English defenders. Although I think that we live by the sword, we die by the sword in regard to those two. They're going to give up a pen one day playing like that.

Good to see Daniel back... I hope he is rested on the next International break, though I'm sure he won't be. At the very least, I hope the England physics and Roy listen to him when he says his body needs rest!
