Well we looked like a team that was starting with 6 new players. Occasional flashes of promise, but a whole lot of nothing with little cohesiveness in the final third. Hopefully we get it figured out because it's becoming painfully obvious how to beat us. Park the bus and just counter and take advantage of our sloppiness in defending set pieces.

Basically, yeah. No shape going forward. It also goes to show just how important it is to get that early goal.
I've also not been impressed with the 4-2-3-1 formation. I don't know if it's lack of experience as a unit, or it just doesn't fit our players, but I've become more and more convinced that the diamond is where we need to be right now. And while I'm not yet ready to evaluate Mario after 2 matches, I think it's clear that we desperately missed Daniel's movement in front.
Today wasn't our day. It happens. We'll get better. Hopefully it clicks for us on Tuesday and next Saturday, because all of these matches in September need to be wins if we are going to entertain any hopes of finishing top 4.

We lost 6 all of last year. Already lost 2 this year, including 1 at home.
And we really haven't started UCL etc. to even be able to blame it on that.
I think we're dependent upon a moment of individual brilliance too much, but thats probably due to a lack of their working together.

With the injury bug hitting, we have a bunch of new guys trying to gel together... I just think it'll take some time... Luckily, many of our other top 4 competitors have started off slow, too...

Not too worried. As you guys have said it'll just take time. Rogers was being a bit too cavalier starting so many new attacking players together. He keeps taking risks against Villa and they keep making us pay.

Hoping the Valdes rumors are true. I was all about letting Mignolet make that position his, but he's still too uncertain and stuck on his line. Hopefully Valdes comes back from his injury 100% and is able to take over the position for a couple years while pushing Simon and giving him a mentor for a little bit

Will be going into media blackout later today after the line-ups are announced. I just can't watch the SD feed tonight on DVR so I'll DVR the HD late and then watch it early tomorrow morning.
Just thinking about the good news (its been hard to find this last week) -
We have a talented team that just needs games to start to gel. Well, we now have non-stop games and I believe they will be a fairly well oiled machine by the time we come out of it. Problem will be how many points did we fail to pick up in the interim?
Now my fears - Rodgers plays Stevie for 90' twice a week for the next few weeks and he'll pick up an injury or be a step slow(er) for the rest of the fall because of it.

Been slammed at work the past couple of weeks, but Ive carved out time for a Dr's appt between 2-4 today... Damn, I just found out Markovic is suspended for tonights match up...
I guess that with the injuries and suspensions, this is the best opponent for us to have started with... I know zero about them, other than their qualification heroics..
