The battle for the podium might get interesting. But that's all the fun we will get.
21 riders in front today with a 10 minutes before the climb of the Port de Bales. Astana leading the peloton, with no rush of course.

This Tony Gallopin dude has been all over the place

I take it we are just going to move on and not talk about todays stage.

Aka.

TJ goes from podium favourite to losing about 5 minutes.

Old Haimar Zubeldia jumped up to 11th today

I'd read that he had been on antibiotics last week.....So if anthing he should have finally got healthy, so he is either fully cracking or justt he consequence of the post race day stage.

Quite surprised to see Peraud up there,Ive never really rated him, must be difficult for AG2r deciding between him and Bardet and maintaining joint leadership so loate

Anyway today should be a doozy

Welp, what started out as a crazy Tour and then turned into a myriad of broken parts and pieces (IMO) is coming to a near close. About the most exciting thing that happened in the Tour was Tony's time trial of 60km for me Tejay is too far behind. Cavendish out. Froome out. Contador out. Sagan not being able to replicate his magic. I have no idea who Nibali is.

Hoping TM replicates his awesomeness tomorrow in the ITT. Go go Tony Martin!

How did Majka lose so much time in the early stages?

Working for contador.....I don't remember him very early in the stage. I think tinkoff was the strongest mountain team this year, but nibali was a monster. Not sure anyone would have beaten him.

I expect Pinot to drop to 4th after the time trial. I think he and Jc peraud will flip spots 2 and 4.

This sport has forever been tainted in my eyes.

I can't trust cycling to police itself, same way I feel about baseball. Finally baseball seems to by trying to fix itself.

Nibali can not be having this much good luck in 1 tour.

His top 2 rivals crash out, he's riding TT of his life, 2 contenders who should have been there left at home unexplained.

Plus his recovery is faster than everyone's. But he did win stages ateast.

I'm not sure that Nibali is real. Vino was blasting them earlier and Vino cheats, as documented. Who runs Astana? Vino.

He cracked one day then wins a stage next? Floyd Landis like.

That was pretty crazy how they both got flats. Sucks, but good to see Tejay make up a placing difference with an outstanding ride too.

Might go for a midday ride on the TT bike as a method of cheering! Even though it's 110+...

he's won both the vuelta and the giro in his career. he isn't exactly coming out of nowhere.

so what's next? tour of utah in 2 weeks? looking forward to seeing lachlan morton do some work for tommy d. and the tour of colorado (i refuse to call it "usa pro cycling challenge") should be interesting with some of the pro teams from the tour de france competing.

THREAD HIJACK: forksup, where do you ride? and do you ride with any of the asu cycling/triathlon crew? i know and ride with a bunch of those guys and girls.

I get that he's won the Giro. But I just am not sure he's the class of Contador, Froome, or Wiggins. I like that Nibali went for wins, but it seemed like a watered down field.

Yeah Nibali went for it because he knew the asterisk would be even bigger if he didn't. Though I think with the form that he had (and if his team was on point), he would have challenged for the top spot even if those guys were still in it.
