World Cup has brought me into fold. I see where EPL games are all on nbc family.

How in the world do I pick a team to cheer for? Is Man U the equivalent of the Yankees or similar? Hated by most?

I have no way to pick one or even a few to follow?

I need aid. Tia

Watch a few games and see what you like. Do you like specific players from the WC? That could be a start.

Tottenham Hotspur is the club for you.

You will never be called a bandwagoner because they always disappoint. Lots of talent, sometimes it even shows.

Lots of great history. Pull the trigger.

don't pick a shite team because they will never be on TV. pick one of the top 5 or so teams from the past few years' rankings. Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City, Chelsea, etc. Tottenham is a good one, as mentioned previously.

Watch the World Cup.
Find players you like.
Play FIFA.
Watch the EPL.

You'll find a team you like pretty fast.

1) Are you American?
2) Do you love Tim Howard?
3) Does Roberto Martinez's voice make you excited about whatever he is taking about?

If you answered yes to all three, congrats you're an Evertonian.

Seriously though watch a few games of the teams that have peaked your interest.

As others have said, it's probably best to watch a bunch of games and see which teams you are naturally drawn to.

Having said that - if I have a favorite it is probably Arsenal and mostly because I thought it was cool that they were started by workers from the Royal Arsenal making a team. And they have that cool cannon on their crest of course . Didn't hurt that they have this weird by cool Arsene Wegner guy as their coach.

Just track your players and support them, even if they go team to team. You don't live in England. You don't have ties to the respective communities. No one is going to care who you pull for. You shouldn't care if a bunch of Americans call you a "bandwagoner" when none of you live in England.

This. I chose to follow Arsenal without seeing a match, and I just couldn't get into them. Saw a Liverpool match and I was hooked. Watch a while and you will latch on to a team.

Cool logo. Got a dude name Toto or something awesome like that. Slick blue color. I look good in blue

The year I picked Tottenham, they finished 7th I think. Maybe higher.

I just watched a bunch of games and I was drawn to them. I liked their name, the name of their stadium, the atmosphere. All of it. I also liked that they had rivals that were more successful than them. Sports can be more enjoyable when you aren't expected to win every game. That's why being an LSU football fan is hard sometimes. Even when they win, did they look good enough?

And don't let anyone talk you out of supporting a club because they aren't top tier right now. Every club is just a Russian billionaire or an Emir away from being a top tier club.

Sunderland fan population on the soccer board population: us. That's all I got for you besides draconian sanctions spontaneous manufactured hatred of you if you pick Sunderland.

I'm in the same predicament as you.. Like someone mentioned earlier if you don't pick a good one, they'll never be on TV. But I would feel like a sidewalk Bama fan if I picked one of the top teams . I do like Ronaldo better than a lot of the other top players. I guess I'm gonna be a Real Madrid fan.

EDIT: I'm also part Italian so I've consider Juventus or AC Milan as well.

Easy. Watch ESPN's 30 for 30 on the Hillsborough Disaster. You will be a fan of Liverpool shortly after.
