how much to pay someone to help out at a party?

so we are having a party, probably about 50-60 ppl. We have a party this size every 6 months or so, and I always want to hire someone to help. The wife does not like the idea but I am the one that ends up doing all the work, mainly mixing drinks.
So, how much should I offer?
* I need them to work from 7-12
* Duties include
* Manning the fryer - we are going to provide french fries and tater tots to party goers
* Mix Punch - we will be offering punch, and would ask that they mix the punch and help serve
* Clean up - while the party will likely go to 3 or 4 in the morning, most people will leave by 11:30 or so. And I would want them to do light clean up, including the fryer, picking up trash, wipe off tables, put up food, etc.
I am thinking $12.50/hr, or $60. In cash, plus all they can drink after we shut the fryer down (10pm). Seem reasonable?

I wouldn't tell them they can drink unless you plan to drive them home.
I'd say $100, find someone in college or senior in high school to help out.
I often bartended at annual Christmas parties at my grandparents house for my aunts/uncles businesses.

My mom has a lady she calls for whenever they are having a party of 20 or more people. Typically $100 for 4 hours of work- most of it being cleanup at the end

I used to do this for my aunt and uncle in college. Never got paid much, but I was always able to hunt, go on fishing charters, and they got me tickets to the 07 championship. I would say look for a niece or nephew (or family friend) who would appreciate a little extra cash. I just went to a party this weekend and I know I put a 20 in the tip jar. Kid had to have made over $150 in tips.

I did essentially the same thing last fall for a wedding. Granted, it was probably a bit more demanding than what you are wanting. It was me and another person, and we setup the entire reception, broke it down, replenished food, drinks, etc. Helped in the kitchen, served people if they needed help, helped the band setup/pickup.
We each got $100 for working 6-11. If they do a good job, make sure to give them a little extra. We were only supposed to help in the kitchen and replenish food and drinks. We ended up doing extra work than what was asked and was asked to stay a couple hours later than the agreed upon time ~1AM or so. Was bummed we didn't get a tip or anything, but was still happy to make $100 for a night's work.
Only you know how demanding the tasks are. So, if you were doing this stuff for someone's party, what would you want to be payed? $60 might be enough for the work itself, but you are hiring a person that will be an essential aspect behind the party going smoothly. This person will also allow you to be more of a presence at the party and have yourself a good time. All of that is worth more than $60 in my opinion.
