So either Korra is permanently weakened thanks to the poison or she's just mentally broken down and has no fire left. She looked weak as hell in that bending match.

Anyone think Kuvira has been pushing the bandits to help her get what she wants to unite the Earth Kingdom territories? She is definitely on a power trip and seeking to take over the kingdom with all this, "My army this" and "My army that" talk.

Lots of questions still need answering and I'm wondering when we'll finally get to see Toph.

Also, can't believe it took until Monday to get the first season 4 post in here.

Watched the first episode last night. It was a little slow but that's to be expected for an episode trying to catch us up with 3 years of history.

After 3 seasons of having each villian shrouded in some sort of mystery eg identity, past, who the real villian is, I am skeptical that from jump we seem to have our villian so plainly obvious and no air of mystery.

I'll be surprised if whats her name is the big bad this season.

A little late but from what I gathered

Korra is still messed up from the fight with Zaheer and the poison. Her mental state is obviously shattered as she has given up on being the Avatar, her family, and friends. I'm guessing she gets her shite together when she meets Toph.

Prince Wu is a figure head plain and simple. He is being controlled by the Republic City president which is giving Kuvira more power.

As for Kuvira, she's capturing the bandits and having them attack towns so the towns will sign the contract and swear allegiance to her.

I think shite is going to hit the fan when either Kuvira invades Republic City or Wu is assassinated.

It also seems like were heading to a Bolin vs Mako showdown. From the trailers someone is shooting lighting at Bolin and they are both currently on opposite sides.

I also don't think Kuvira is the main villain, I think someone is pulling the strings possibly the leader of the Red Lotus. Maybe Azula?

Next episode is titled Korra Alone. Which is awesome since Zuko Alone was one of the best ATLA episodes of the series

Watched both episodes. Really good!

Something is surely gearing up.

Love seeing some of the characters from the first series!

P.S. Korra with short hair is fiya.

I had to look up what "fiya" meant on the urban dictionary. I really hope that does not enter our everyday jargon.

I am enjoying the season so far. I enjoy a good "hero must resolve some internal conflict" story, just like Rand in Wheel of Time finally understanding what he was and becoming the god he was meant to be or Richard Rahl in Sword of Truth understanding what it meant to be a War Wizard and regaining his magic.

And it's kind of a bold move considering there's been sub-plots in previous seasons of just this, internal conflict. But that's been about her and her powers...this is about reuniting the Avatar with the long line of Avatars. It's been a two season arc, really.

Yeah, I can't possibly believe that Aang and all the other Avatars are really gone for good. This series will end with Korra reconnecting with all of them. The Kuvira thing is more an external metaphor for her taking over as the keeper of balance not just in the Earth Kingdom but all the nations. Just as luck would have it, remnants of the Gaang are still alive and kicking in the Fire and Air Nations.

Hey, sorry but I've been super busy recently, mostly getting drunk and not knowing how to handle myself with my team's recent success. Only joking.

But I'm really, really liking the direction they're taking this season. Kuvira looks to be a very worthy opponent to Korra and thought she had a great introduction. I'm sure Kuvira used those bandits to steel from Kai and Opal. That really reeks of something Varrick would do, and plus how do they get a plane?

Also I'm thinking the Earth Prince is a flaming homosexual and totally is trying to bang Mako. Yeah, he does ask Asami out, but Asami is fricking loaded and probably the most powerful woman in the Republic. I think he said "lube you up" to Mako. While Kuvira is theoretically subordinate to him, she's going to send an assassin after him soon and not give up her army and power, and think she's going to invade the United Republic. She does say that she will not rest until ALL of the Earth Kingdom is reunited, and I think she means Republic City.

And Korra Alone is one of the best episodes they've done. Just all around a great episode, and is probably my favorite episode since the Avatar Wan episode. Really good dissection of PTSD, and a very dark episode. I am curious what Nega-Korra is, since it does seem much more than just a hallucination since the spirit could see it.

I'm also seeing a bit of Korrasami in that last episode. If it ends with Korra and Asami making out, I'd say there's no way in hell they cancelled it for the ratings, and the high ups at Nick and Viacom shite a brick when they found out all the shite they were able to get away with in the final 2 seasons.

After the final few episodes of last season, I wonder if they're going for another brutal death or maybe a shocking one. But if anyone is getting killed off soon it's the Prince.

I doubt they go down the Korra and Asami road you speak of...

Anyhow Kuvira taking power at the ceremony puts her as a prime enemy for this season, but I see there being something more than just her being the top of the order.

Toph is still the same bad arse she's always been and is crazy powerful with the ability to "see" the entire world as it is. I see she has gone the path of, "It doesn't matter what I do, the world never changes." I wonder if the old band will get back together for a bit having her, Zuko, and Katara interact.

Looks like we're going to see a struggle between Mako and Bolin throughout this season along with Bolin having problems with Opal since he's palled up with Kuvira now and she seems to be manipulating him very easily. I did like the interaction with him and Eska when she mentions Kuvira as his new girlfriend and he replies saying that's just his boss and then she comes back with, "Same thing"

I doubt it too, but there seem to be some subtleties there, ad it would be pretty fricking awesome if they did it.

And yet another really good episode (don't think they've had an even mediocre one since the Avatar Wan flashback). Yeah, it's a set up episode, but love everything that's being set up. Really curious with what Varrick plans on doing with the Spirit Vines. Maybe it can turn into somewhat of an atomic bomb that instead of evaporating everything, it engulfs a town in vines and spirit wilds.

And that was pretty damn ballsy of Kuvira to basically announce herself as a dictator in front of every world leader. Really surprised at least Korra's father and Zuko didn't say anything and interrupt her.

And tons of Star Wars vibes between Korra and Toph. Really look forward where this is going since Kuvira is going to invade Zaofu next.

I think Korra just likes having a girl friend she can talk to. She was always isolated with Naga while growing up then had Mako and Bolin. It's different having a girl for her to talk to and she feels more comfortable. I haven't gotten the gay vibe from it yet, just typical woman talk.

For sure, she seems way too arrogant. She has the Fire Lord Ozai and Azula (minus the insanity) vibe to her.

I think they are staying out of it being it's Earth Kingdom business as long as she doesn't move to take over other nations.

Speaking of Zuko, wonder if we will get to see more of his family other than both Irohs. It's weird that they haven't had anything happen in the fire nation yet for us to see it in this series. Every other nation has been shown.

Big time Yoda/Luke action going on there. Although Toph is way harder on her pupil I think.

Oh and we need more Milo!

So Kuvira and her Metal Clan are now officially the NAZIs of the Avatar world. The entire world is just going to watch until Kuvira invades Republic City which will happen. And it looks like we are heading to a brother vs brother fight between Mako and Bolin.

Meanwhile Toph hasn't changed at all as she's still sarcastic and a wise arse. Wonder if her ability to see everything around the world will play into the final battle. Korra is going to have to get her shite together quick because we got a World War coming.

And also anyone think that Varick maybe working on The Spirt Manhattan Project?

ETA: Anyone see the symbolism in Kuvira crushing the Kyoshi Medal of Freedom

Definitely. I think Varrick is going to bomb Zaofu with it.

I guess it's possible Bolin can be that moronic. He claims they're bringing freedom, by getting everyone to submit to someone else's will.

At this point, I agree with Kuvira and Bolin. The new Earth King is an idiot, and would let his citizens suffer without a care in the world. I think Kuvira does care for her citizens, but does brutal means to make sure they fall into line. It seems as if she organized Ba Sing Se, which would seem harder than everywhere else combined.
